That is NOT the proper way to split a tractor, ouch $$$$$

Is there any economical way to fix that or is it just totaled?

I'm assuming transmission housing and/or engine block is going to need serious welding & machining. New clutch if somehow the crankshaft & I put shaft didn't get bent or busted. Lots of plumbing for fuel, heater/radiator, hydraulics. Throttle, steering linkages all shot.

That would depend on the skill of those involved. If someone is skilled at working with cast, perhaps a repair might not exceed the value. I personally wouldn't trust the repair though.

The way I see it, one of two things happened... One; that tractor has seen a very hard life and the castings are likely full of tiny cracks. It was just waiting on some big jolt to break it. Fixing what broke doesn't fix the other tiny cracks that may be next to let go. Or second; the owner didn't properly maintain the unit and ensure all bolts and fasteners were fully tight. When they started to pull, some of the loose bolts allowed enough flex to break the tight bolts and when they broke the rest let go as well.

Either way I'd only use parts off of it on another like it. I'd consider it too broken to waste the time on attempting a fix.

I'd post it for sale on Craigslist with a note stating "ran when I put it away".

I question whether the back half of the tractor sank into the lake.

I found that on Reddit.
Towing a tractor with a rope : Wellthatsucks

Don't believe anything there, it's mostly kids posting as if they know something - that they saw in a video game! In some cases someone comes along who really is a specialist in the issue discussed but its up to you to sort out which is which.

One of the comments was it's in Russia and the the tractor appears to be a Belarus, likely old, from the USSR days. Slapped-together quality when new 30 years ago and now not not worth very much after repair. And it does look like the transmission went underwater.

So if that's accurate, likely its future is parts.

Now that I think about it, I bet that trailer is way overloaded, should be tandem

Great miovie, would have been better if the "hands' were smaller, ie a child's hand. Jon

Absolutely love Jeep Wranglers and been thinking of buying one for a run about but never thought I could tow the MX5100 with it. Heck now I need one and a little landscape trailer. LOL

They proved they didn't know what they were doing when they loaded the skid steer with the trailer unhooked. Next problem was unloading with the bucket so high. Considering the weight distribution of a skid steer the tongue weight probably wasn't bad.
