They were driving down the road slowly and turned into driveway. Guy ducked when he saw me.
Please explain it to this country boy. The Jeep? The utility work truck? What? Why would they duck? Are you the Boss or the cops?
I have seen that more than a few times when they were stringing cable and riding it onto the guide wire. Always with the guy in the bucket wearing a harness and tied off to the bucket. They were DRIVING down the ROAD with the guy IN THE BUCKET. That is a HUGE NO-GO FO-SHO.
Getting away with it doesn't make it right.Interesting to see how many of these "unsafe towing & hauling" incidents resulted in the job getting done with NO damage or injuries.

Of course, there are also times where it's so "right" that the job can barely be done.
Better to be lucky than good?
Just as not fastening your seat belt on a tractor doesn't mean you are going to DIE if you start the tractor.
Because someone got hurt doing something doesn't mean it is unsafe.
Because something *COULD* happen doesn't mean it will or that it is even likely to happen.

I've gone hunting with people that probably think the same way. Kind of depends on the consequences, if something bad does happen.

I saw a lot of that in GA in the early 2000s, Bell South had trucks attaching fiber to the traveler and they would generally have a truck with the tool to lace the fiber on attached to the boom and one guy would ride along lacing the fiber to the trailer and taking the lacer off at each pole. That's a huge spool of cable on the back of the bucket truck. Most likely he's attaching cable to the permanent 'traveller' (?) cable as he moves along.
He was probably more worried about a picture with his face getting back to somebody in Corporate Safety...They didn’t drive far. They were taking up a lane while working so I think they were getting out of the road as quickly as possible.(they had a police detail) At no time was the truck moving quickly at all. I just got a kick out of the guy ducking down when he saw me (breaking the law by the way) taking a pic of him while I drove by.
