I wrote earlier that I ordered stub axles & hubs from eTrailer. Dangit this morning noticed months ago I added those items to my "wishlist" at SurplusCenter.com ( for 20% less ), but forgot. Not a big deal, the insult to my memory is worse than the $14 loss. Etrailer is a good outfit though, very responsive.

For the front wheels on my log splitter cart I found it was cheaper to buy a harbor freight utility trailer.

By the time you buy wheels, hubs and spindles you've paid for their small trailer. I also will use the coupler, lights and fenders etc.

Had the wheels already. The spindles + hubs cost $74 + freight on eTrailer, could have been $56 + freight on Surpluscenter. Had my eye on HF trailers but they are about $200 (or $300 on craigslist :laughing. Agreed there are some other parts for the toybox but this was even less than the mythical $100 trailer on Craigslist that is 80 miles away.

I built one a while ago, had a spare trailer axle that I was able to rob some parts from ( like spindles). It worked great so far.
