Lookng at getting a front mount snowblower for my Cub Cadet/Yanmar Sc2450
The frist one is the Cub Cadet SB52, but the Cub Cadet website only has info on the SB45, The other that I have found is made by Bercomac.

P.T.O. Snowblower Hydraulic Lift Sub-Compact Cub Cadet Yanmar SC Tractors - Description - BERCO Accessories for garden tractors and lawn, snowblower for ATV and UTV

Anyone have one of these blowers? Are they the same blower?
Does the Cub Cadet blower have the optional electric deflector?

I don't have one, but hopefully the other guys on here that do will respond. The SB-52 is a re-designed version of the SB45, and supposed to be much better. I believe it does have an optional power chute.
And, I also believe the bercomac is a different animal.....hopefully other guys will confirm.
Yes, I've sen that, Cub hasn't updated their website yet.

This help?
SB52 snowblower on a CubCadet/Yanmar SC2450 (SC2400) - YouTube

Don't bother with the smaller one if you can afford to spend a little more. There's not much good that's been said about them. When I bought mine I don't recall the deflector being an option.

There's a couple threads here on the SB52 also.

No clue on the Bercomac. Looks similar. Says it uses a timing belt, the SB52 does not.

I have had them both you can find the frustration of owning the sb45 on a thread about it
the sb52 is almost indestructable I put more hours on it in Nov of last year than on the sb45 (that I understand from the dealer was photographed and tags ripped off and sold for scrap) in its short life.
it took 6 bricks out of a flower planter broke 2 sheer bolts
took a ft long piece of cement curbing broke 3 sheer bolts
took a piece of road grader cutting edge broke all 4 sheer bolts it did require hammer theraphy after some of these
the sb52 is one massive piece of equipment very worth while

I stopped by the dealer today and orderd the SB52, he also said the SB45
was junk. He said he did not know too much about the Bercomac snowblower
but said if I went with the Cub Cadet brand that the front hitch for the blower is the same hitch Cub uses for the snowplow so if later on I wanted the plow I would only have to buy the plow. I did have him order the Bercomac soft side winter cab:
Winter Cab for Compact Tractors - Description - BERCO Accessories for garden tractors and lawn, snowblower for ATV and UTV

Here are the prices:
Blower $2599.00
Front Hitch $999.00
Hyd Chute Rotation $399.00
Grand Total $4544.29 with tax

Soft Cab $478.00
Brackerts $69.00
Shipping $30.00
Grand Total $617.39 with tax

I wonder if that's the same cab as listed on Ebay for around 700? I tried to get a link to it but can't quite figure it out...

I did not ask if there was an option for the chute deflector, was going to try it this winter without any chute control but got to reading and seeing that people had made thier own.

I know their is an option for it, I was reading the manual that came with the SB52 snowblower that bolted on the guide bushings in an arm for the chute deflector option.

ericher69 said that Kubota wanted $800 fot their Hydralic chute control, I knew I could make one work for alot less.

i have a call into Reed. just curious how much. i would def try to make my own but i dont have a welder. i could possibly try to bolt together some kid of bracket. i know its worth a shot, because i was pretty peeved when i looked at the hydrolic rotation kit.. i know i could have made that...

anyway thanks for your help.

Thanks

Cork

PS do you think there is anyway you could send me the actual specs for the brackets you made?? also where did you grab 12v on the tractor??

I got the 12 volt from under the right side fender (if you are looking at the tractor from the rear) There is a 12 volt plug that runs along the right hazzard light wireing, This 12 volt plug has a positive and negitive connection. This plug is used for an optional work light the actuator that I bought is only .05 amps.

The measurments of the top bracket:
3" wide 3-1/4" long and the bracket going up to the actuator is 1-1/4" from the side and 3" high.

Bottom bracket:
4" wide 4-1/2" long and 3" high.

Does any of this make sence?

I built the brackets using the exsisting bolt holes on the chute.

I would be nice to find out what the cost from the dealer is, Is it hydralic or electric?

LOL it does make sense(because you have pics above)... thank you very much!

I called Reed Friday and he said he would get back to me with a price, i do know that the current setup is electric. but i was wondering where they pull 12v from?

When i get more info on the setup i will let you know!!

Thanks again!

just make sure when you get your SB52 that the wheels that hold the chute down (you will see them there are 4 of them that the chute rides in) are made of metal! that is the only weak link I have found in the blower. The plastic ones that came with mine wore out in about 15 hrs of work, then another set, then another, finally replaced with metal ones no problems since. What a difference a year makes last year by now I had over 100 hrs of blowing in. this year started it twice to move around the shop

I used the SB52" snowblower today, We had 3" of heavy wet snow. This is a fantastic blower. I never cloged and threw the snow a long way.
This is the first time all winter that we got snow. so this was its madien voyage.
The actuator for the chute deflector worked great also, was worth the time and energy it took to build it.
Thanks for the tip on the the chute rotaion wheels mine are plastic so I will have to keep an eye on them.
Do you know the part number for the metal wheels?

Hey guys, I'm new here. Bought an SC2400 a few months ago, and have been doing A LOT of research on possible future attachments, which is how I found this site. Saw the video of the SB52 on youtube before I knew it was posted by a member here. I do have some intel to pass along: As most are aware, there are only TWO PTO snowblowers for this tractor, to my knowledge - the '52, and the Berco 48". The Berco's (per the website) appear to be very well built machines. The angled drift cutters, though a minor detail, would also be strong, opposed to the ones Cub sells, that bend and twist, if blowing through very hard packed snow (on LT2042, to be fair). After talking to a local retailer of the Berco's, they are a little cheaper, too: I was quoted $3,798 + freight for the blower, $65 + freight for the drift cutters, and $199 + freight for the electric angling, freight being about $125. The hyd rotation appears to be a standard feature. A major downside would be that Berco does not have a blade that would mount to the same subframe as Cub does, so you'd have to buy the entire subframe/blade kit by Cub - might as well get the Cub and save money in the long run, with only one subframe. Until I decide to pony up though, the FEL does just fine.

Ty, I believe the front hitch for the SB52 will not work with the 60" Blade. I believe that the blade uses the same hitch as the old SB45 blower. If I am wrong perhaps others will chime in.

You know, I guess I did overlook that. My local dealer did say they were compatible with each other, but did not specify between the older 45 or the new 52, though I do recall from a different conversation he did say they don't make the 45 anymore. Hmm... guess I'll have to find out. I'll let you all know when I get an answer.
