The exterior door trim and fascia will be wrapped in aluminum coil, Certainteed Monogram Savannah Wicker (59) color to compliment the Double 5 Woodland Mist (77) horizontal vinyl siding and Taupe overhead garage doors. The Woodland Mist is almost dead-on to the existing solid stain on the house cedar.

Wanted to match the house shingles, so we used the same Timberline shadow accent 30yr architectual in Weathered Wood. I was surprised to see the darn things were close to $20/bdl these days, but they do look very nice! Yes, you CAN use your FEL to lift bundles up!

Used a continous roof ridge vent made by Cobra rather than individual roof vent louvers. Easier to install and, aside from power vents, most effective according to this chart.

Wanted to get the shingles on as rain is forecast but, before the shingles could be completed, that rear gable end overhang and drip edge needed to be finished. These jack stands and scaffolding worked real nice.

Back side all buttoned up. Starting to look like a real garage and shop now!

Thanks, I promised the wife that I would not linger on this project, or leave it half-finished like so many others. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif And, it's amazing how much you can get done in a nice 4-day holiday weekend with some help when you keep at it and offer free beer! The overhead garage doors are scheduled for delivery tomorrow and I'm starting electric while I wait for siding. The siding color I want ended up being special order.
I guess I'm the only one who liked the color. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have 65hrs on my 7610 and I'm too busy to do the 50hr myself so I decided to take it in today. I heard an 'estimate' of $400 with a 2-day turnaround. We'll see.

I haven't been following the thread, so this question might have already been asked. Are you aware of the tape that is made to seal the seams of the Tyvek? Even with siding on it, the wind can get under the Tyvek and cause drafts. Being that it is a garage, this might not be of interest to you, but is worth mentioning if you are not aware of the product... Junk.... Tyvek Tape.......

Not to be funny, but the clear duct tape works great for this. It's also cheaper and available at just about every hardware store.

Yep, thanks Junkman, I planned to tape it up before siding. For now though, I've moved to getting the overhead doors up, need to get it secure so I can start moving tools and supplies in.

Eddie - I chastized a buddy of mine once for using regular duct tape on foil faced foamboard instead of the proper foil tape. I know after time the cloth backing will deteriorate and disintegrate, but I've never used clear duct tape for anything. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I'll certainly check it out for this use, I'm all about saving money [properly] if I can. Thanks for the sharing the tip!
