If I understand you correctly you are looking for the same thing that you show in your second photo, not sure what the correct name is, but one that is shorter. If you are they make one that is approximately 3 inches shorter. If that is what you are looking for, you may have to check with an electrical supply house, because I have not seen them at big box hardware stores for quite some time.

Lastly, if I do go with option #2 above, the conduit from the outside 90* access el to the box would run up along the left side of the offending wall stud (as you are facing the interior wall) and need to enter the bottom of the breaker box on the lower right side corner.

Problem is, there is only one 1-1/2" knockout in the bottom of the breaker box and it is in the middle. Is there any reason I can't use my hole saw to put the proper size opening in the bottom right where needed?

Thanks for the help, I really don't want to end up with conduit running up either inside or outside walls and I sure do like the flush mount.

No, not the same, it doesn't have to be of an 'access' design. And, not necessarily shorter than that 90* access el, just less radius, or 'depth'. Really need something sized like the common 1-1/2" white plastic pvc sink drain line 90* el's.

Nothing in the box stores and I called two big supply houses with no luck. Haven't tried online yet but I'm having a hard time believing these are so hard to get. Does anyone know if such a fitting exists? Can I heat and bend my own?

I can't be the first guy to take 1-1/2" Sched 40 in and up a 2x4 wall. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Why do you need conduit inside the wall? Did I miss something in your prior posts? All my electrical panels have wire running up the 2X4 wall held in place with electrical staples. Does code require conduit in interior walls?

He talking about the conduit protecting the feeder to the panel, and yes it'd probably required.

Use 1½" back to back 45's twisted. Might make an ugly exit through the siding, but that would allow you to enter to box in the center KO and line it up with the stub up outside. Go to the box store and locate 2 45's and a coupling and play with twisting them around in the store. It might work for you.

Yes, correct, the feeder must be in conduit.

And, yes, small 45's sure might be a simple solution if I can find 'em. Do they make the small ones? The box stores didn't have Sched 40 small (non-sweep) 45's and, I will admit, I was so focused on the small 90, I didn't think to ask the supply houses for 45's. Duh! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif And, they didn't offer either, don't know which is worse! I hope it is this simple, thanks again!

Is code requireing schedule 40? Does it have to be gray? Why not use white schedule 40 pvc? Isn't hte biggest diference between the two is that gray isn't affected by UV light, while the white will breakd down over time. If it's in the wall, what difference does it make?

Sometimes I'll modify two or more fittings to get one that will do what I want. It might take some creative planning on the floor of the store, but with enough fittings, you can usually make just about anything.

Good luck,
Eddie

Eddies right, sometimes I just go stand in front of the shelves till I see the pieces come together.

But after reading your post and seeing the problem in the attachment I went and looked through my "buckets O stuff". The attachment has a couple different styles that might work for you. You can't see it real well but the metal 90 on the right is about 2 3/4 deep as you can see they recessed the 90 back into itself, it's a 1 1/4 by the way-still might work for you. The PVC 90 has the access box turned to the side also bringing down the profile. That one is way too small but if you can find that style the clearence might work. The name on the package is Carlon and Lamson & Sessions underneath.

I may have something in the exact size but I would have to search for it tomorrow. Let me know if can't come up with anything. Also if you want to try and find some adapters for that metal 1 1/4 elbow I could send it to you.

Great garage by the way, I love your attention to detail. It's the details that separates real good from great.

Got to thinking a different way today. Cut the PVC above grade and glue on a female terminal fitting. Then screw in a Liquidtite Flexible Metal Conduit fitting. Run the Liquid Tite through the wall at an angle and up to the panel with another fitting on that end.
