Wally, that's a good tip, but be prepared for the air being exhausted from the vacuum sweeper to smell just like bug spray. Those vapors will be spread throughout your room the same as the bad smell of ladybugs. You want to use a spray with vapors that are not going to irritate you or place the vacuum outside during this procedure. Killing the bugs shouldn't also make you or your family sick.

Good point!

We have only used this method indoors twice. Our lab tracked in flees. We sprayed the cotton ball with flee killer and then vacuumed the house. We had no noticeable fumes from the flee killer in the house. It would also depend on the vacuum and the filter.

I really use this method in the shop to control insects and flies. When ever I shop vac the shop, I do this. You are right with the shop vac that it will spread some fumes, but its a shop! I try to keep it well ventilated when I do this or anything that has chemicals or fumes.

Thanks for all your post, I can't tell you how much I have learned from them!

We used our Rigid shop vac to vac up flies in a cabin we built for a friend. There were so many flies in that place it was crazy. The shop vac had spots to store the extensions and we were able to just pop the hose with extension into the store spot which then plugged the hose so the flies couldn't get out. When we oiled the floor the flies covered the floor like a blanket. The fumes from the oil did wonders killing flies but didn't do much good for our heads:rolleyes:

That slide will come in handy if you get real excited after shooting a big buck. You don't have to worry about tripping as you run down the stairs, you just jump on the slide and are on your way:D I might have to add one to my tower now that I think of it. Nice stand:)

That's a nice stand, Brin. You'll never have anything bust through the roof for sure. All those 2x6s for rafters make it super strong I'm sure. Is the tar paper on top of wafer board or there to fix leaks? I can't tell if that's wafer board or tin that it's on top of.

Well our season started Saturday and I have been out in the tower every morning and evening. Sunday night my friend calls me just before its dark and is all excited as he shot a deer on the other side of our property. It is the second deer he has ever shot (he is in his mid 40's and is handicapped) so I decided to pack it in early and go help him. Well stupid me I never looked out my window by the door before I opened it. The guns were unloaded and put away and as I opened the door there was a 20" wide rather massive 8 pt 50 yards down the path in line of my stairs. He wasn't scared but startled by the door opening. He just did a light trot into the brush and disappeared. He was a nice buck and I would most likely have shot him had I not had a brain cramp:rolleyes:

Oh well, I have been seeing deer every day out there and at least two bucks each day till today. Tonight I took Ava out with me and she had a lot of fun. She ate all my chips and cristened the potty (which is the main reason I think she wanted to go). We saw 2 doe and 2 fawns which are always in this area every night. She got to watch them and we had fun coloring :)

Here are some pics from the tower.

The one picture shows you how close my tower is to the I90. It is one of the reasons I set my tower where I did so that I was always shooting away from the road. It sure does make it hard to hear the deer in the wild if your sitting outside with all the noise from the road. So the tower is nice, I don't hear the traffic as bad and I don't miss not hearing the critters since I never could hear them here anyway.

The potty is just an emergency potty and doubles as a garbage can. I had no intentions of using it but Ava did. I just put a plastic garbage bag in there and put garbage in and if someone ever has to use the bathroom out there they can and just tie the back shut and keep the lid on the bucket. Take the bag to the garbage at home when you leave and your good to go. Ava has this strange fascination with using the bathroom anywhere different. She loves peeing outside and made sure "I" had a potty in my tower for "her". I thought about buying one of the toilet seats that go on a bucket but can't see wasting money on something that might get used once or twice a year.
