steering wheel spinner knobs

I have an el cheapo TSC one that is black. I had to use longer screws than what came with it to make it attach to the thicker steering wheel spoke. Green is just fine on an orange tractor, especially if the bearing is better made. Does it have the Deere logo on it?

Same here, longer screws to (from the Deere). Yep the green one has the deer and John Deere on it. Bought at a JD dealer while I was getting something else.

We had a spinner on a farmall C with a sickle mower, and it was the greatest thing, otherwise we would have had to really slow down and made slow 90 degee corners. I do not recall any hazzard from it.

Be a rebel Rob and put the green knob back on:) Who cares what color it is....I wish mine was a off pink color but that's just me:)

use fusion primer available at walmart and then paint it pink if that is your wish. Is not an expensive fix :)

Well, after reading all the posts I stopped at a local truck stop and picked up a "Duncan" spinner like the one on my JD riding mower. It is a well made American product. Also I do not remember if it was in this thread or an older one but someone had said a fold out of the way spinner might be nice, JC Whitney has one for around $13. Put the spinner on last weekend got a little seat time with it, making FEL work and backing so much easier is, for me, well worth any chance of it trying to hurt me.

With the power steering on my JD I find I can just use one finger to spin the wheel so I do not have one. If you don't have power steering they can be knucklebusters or finger breakers though...

And another anomaly with the hydrostatic steering that most CUT's have is that the steering wheel does not stay centered, so the spinner always ends up in a different place.
Had a knob on my 650 just about broke my fingers many times over, but still it worked really well, no power steering.
I thought it was my imagination with the steering wheel in changing alignment.

Now we need a quick attach for the spinner so the HST with PS drivers can keep readjusting the spinner to the right position.

patrick_g, while I do have only 9 fingers it was not the result of a spinner. As I stated, the risk is worth it for me. My left hand forces me to sometimes find an advantage to make tasks a bit easier.

If you are happy with a spinner then I am just tickled for you. I think it is simple personal preference and with adult operators willing to accept the risk and suffer any consequences should do so with little or no guff from the DO IT MY WAY bunch. Neither camp should pester the other.

Well I was driving my kubota today without power steering and with a spinner knob. I hit something and it spun the steering wheel around. What I noticed happening was that the spinner just slipped out of my hand. It was not that big a problem. As I said before I am very happy with the spinner on my kubota.
