We never used them due to the risk of injury. I agree that they can be an advantage but forearms have been broken by them. I just bought an old H Farmall and took it off immediately. Just apply more muscle and let that wheel spin if you can't hold it. Try to anticipate things like ruts, ridges, or obstacles.

Your rules apply to a spinner to. I'm sure someone has broken their fingers in the spokes of the steering wheel, probably worse. Probably MORE hurt by the steering wheel alone (see statistics can prove anything! ) If it starts spinning...get out of the way! Or get a hand sqeezer to strenghten your grip!

I have operated several tractor with a suicide knob and I will be putting one on my 2320 after it is delivered. one was a 4wd articulated with hydrostatic steering and the other was a 2wd with FEL and very little in the way of power steering. I could really whip that wheel around and get the tractor turned quickly with the knob.
