Did not get as much done this week end as I would of liked but what can I do. I measure 20 times cut once.

Got all the outside wiring hooked up minus fixture, thats tonight.

Got all the sheeting done minus 4 sheets, thats tonight.

Next week I am going to start on the sofit and siding. Never have done this before, I picked up some flyers at the hardware store showing how to install it. Looks doable to me.

After that I am going to work on getting the concrete poured.

I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Got my motion lights on the front of the garage put up tonight and they work great. I have it set up by hopping off the light on right then feeding the light on the left. The instruction book said to use a red wire in the light to hook to the out going black wire to feed the next light to make them work in tandom. Or working as one. When I did this the 2nd light would not work. So tonight I just pig tailed all three wire in the 1st light so they work as two not together. Tomorrow I will scan the instruction.

I thought they look good and boy is it fun to walk on and be able to see in my back yard and garage area. I have one motion light by the person door to and my back door to my house. Boy its great to be in the 21st century.

1st both attachments are the same drawing of the light hook up. On is pdf file and the other is a jpg.

Last night I just hook all three black together hot off the switch, black from the lamp and the other black going to the 2nd light.

It works but they go off and on at diffrent times depending on movement.

I am confussed with the 1st lamp, I have 3 black wires 1. from the switch then to a black wire, 2 a black wire to the red but the 3 black do I dead head it.

then the 2nd lamp is it black to red or black to black and dead head the red.

I understand the ground and nutral.

I know you all are thinking this boy is going to burn his new garage down to the ground or cement at least. But I have killed the power to the lights. Until I figure it out.

any ideas.

thank s all

Roger

LYNKAGE: Good question. There are only two things left for me to figure out. 1. How to lay the brick columns in front under the lights, never have worked with brick. 2. What type of heat. Electric and gas are going up fast in this area. I checked into wood heat with my insurance company and if I want insurance I can not use that. Even though I heat 100 % by wood in my home.

So I am thinking of a ventless gas wall heator lp ($300), and wall unit for a/c ($500). Or a all in one heat pump unit ($1700) that hangs on the inside wall with a compresor on the wall out side, the neat thing with this unit it takes only a 1inch whole through the wall. 220.

I do not want to go with a whole house heating & cooling unit that you would find in a home ($2,700) or so or more. I would only heat and cool when in the garage on the week ends.

So I still have some thinking to do and that makes my head hurts.

I used a window mount heat/ac unit and it works pretty good. Gas and electric are going up and seems as though gas is catching electric quick.
Heat pumps are nice as well!!:)

Lynkage:

That is what I was thinking of heat and cooling, but I was not able to get any idea if the units I was looking at would cary the load of 26x34 area. They were going to be around 900 to 1500 local, and on the net I found them for about 600 to 900. But I need help in finding out if those units would work for me. A local dealer was showing me heat pumps units both hang on the wall unit inside and the compressor out side but they start at $1700.

What size are do you heat and how large of a unit and what price range was the unit in.

Thanks

Roger
