I've heard Ricky Scaggs was one of the sons, but I can't tell which one he is.

Funny he was from NYC, also he has done voice work for Hanna Barbera cartoons.
Another odd thing about that show was Frances Bavier. In reality she could be difficult, and hard to get along with. I heard that when she had retired, and Ron Howard had moved behind the camera, he was doing something in the town she was in, and went to visit her. She wouldn't even come to the door.

Bird, I was refering to the original push to end the practice of communities running 'speed traps'. It seems that it was originally mandated by the feds, and some arm twisting done at state levels via the "You don't play by OUR rules, and you don't get federal hiway funds" etc. Same method used in forcing states to adopt standard speed limits on the freeways.
LEEP funds etc were also tied into it....but I am working with a faulty memory here, so could be way off base.

Aahh....I remember the good old days of speed traps. Now in our area the police have "sold off" the rights to private companies to manage "photo radar" traps. Don't even know you got a ticket for several weeks until your photo comes in the mail. Certainly not a cash grab is it??? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Speaking of not being able to tell what something is, what the heck is that signature you have there? Looks like a flag with a picture of a partially eaten cherry with a small palm tree growing outta it and a small bird flying over the top. Pretty close huh?

First off, I want to say that I respect all you police officers out there. I know how hard it can be at times for you guys. It often gets me mad that people give police officers such a "bad rap", like fat lazy people who just eat coffee and doughnuts all day. Maybe they should try a day at your jobs. See how they like it then....

Franz, did you notice any tracks on the ground? Particularly tire type and/or direction? Couldn't you get a state or federal agent out to your place to investigate? Also, were there any other signs of anything being tampered with? I know quite a bit about forensics and what to look for. The most basic thing you can do is look for anything that looks out of place or suspicious. Also, approximately what day/date and time was the tractor stolen? Are there any impressions on the ground that suggests a trailer and/or heavy vehicle may have been used? What were you doing or where were you that day?

Rat,

You're going to have all of our Texan friends saddlin' up their 'botas and ridin' after you if you're not careful. That there is the San Jacinto flag if I'm not mistaken.
