( We got a small break in the rain this afternoon, enough for it to finally cool down a bit. Hopfully this will be the begining of a few dry days.
Check out the picture of our equipment lot. )
My creek starts at your place. With the extra rain we got tonight, it was over the banks. Our bridge was still above water when we returned home about 1/2 hour ago. The westbound side of 230 had fairly deep water between the car wash and the Little Chiques Creek at the other end of town.................chim
Edit for update - #3 Son just returned home and said the driveway now has a few inches of water over it on both sides of the bridge.
My God! Please send me rain...We are in the worst drought in recorded history....have not had but 2 inches in the last 2 months....please send me some rain.....I am cutting as hight as I can to keep grass from burning up.....You must have gotten all of my rain......HA HA
Ferrari,
You must be on the other end of TN, we have had rain, rain, then just a bit more rain. We had even more rain last summer. This spring was somewhat dry, but now it is raining dang near every day. This is a pic of my springhouse last summer. I haven't flooded this year but it may be because I dug a few french drains which I believe has helped a great deal.
This is a pic of the drain I put in this past winter. I put two 4'' perforated pipes approx. 150 feet long. The water used to flood my orchard, it hasn't since I installed the drain.
Ferrari,
I just looked at the pic in your post. I received that same pic in an e-mail a few weeks ago. I was told that pic was taken at Boone Lake. If that is true and you live in East TN then I don't know what valley you live in where it hasn't rained. I reckon the folks that pipe in the sunlight just haven't piped in the rain. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I have heard of "fire sales", but I think you should consider a "flood sale". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
