I am finishing up on a 12x18 sunroom addition with glass roof and east/south walls, plywood on the other two walls. I want to paint the plywood a flat finish in a soft shade of green. It will not be heated/cooled other than a thermostat controlled ventilation fan. I'm clueless about paint, would this plywood look/last/whatever best painted with an interior or exterior grade of paint considering the tremendous amount of sunlight?

Prime it first. The very best primer that I've come across in Zinser. Home Depot and Lowes both sell it. Cost for the best, oil base, is about $24 a gallon. Just read the label for exterior grade use. Then buy a a name brand, better quality exterior paint. I like Valspar from Lowes, but have used just about everything. There are some to avoid, but all of them are the lower priced paints. I can't speak for the designer brands, but of your name brand paints, you get what you pay for.

Oil based primer is the best. A good primer will give you a better, longer lasting paint job. Latex paint will bond very nicely to an oil based primer, but you cannot put oil based paint on a latex primer. The only time you'd want to use oil based paint is for high gloss trim, so it's not important.

If there is any moisture, or humidity, then spend the extra buck and buy exterior paint. From the description, I'd use exterior primer and exterior paint.

Good Luck,
Eddie

Should have mentioned I've got 2 coats of Kilz2 latex primer on it already, it said it was good for inside or outside use. I just got a little confused on paint requirement. Exterior paint certainly makes sense. Thanks for the affirmation Eddie.

Have you though about picking the color you want and using a solid or semi-transparent stain instead of paint ? I have used semi transparent stain and solid stain on interior porch surfaces that get a lot of sun and it has held up year after year ...for years. That way you skip the primer and moisture is not a problem. It has worked well for me over the years and home depot or lowes can tint it to your choice of any color..
