And some days I wish I had Windows 3.01 back, along with the versions of Quicken and Microsoft Works that I was using then. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Something to consider (and I'm not advertising here!) Netscape 7.1 has pop-up ad blocking built in - except on the Netscape site itself. Also, most viruses/worms are made to take advantage of Internet Explorer. I run the Netscape browser and ZoneAlarm, and I have it set up so that IE cannot go out on the internet without permission.

There was a time when making PCs work was an interesting challenge, but now I just resent all the countless hours I wasted learning esoteric and pointless things about an operating system that will soon be obsolete. And all that stuff will become irrelevant. Oh well, I put together a home network and several PC’s, all built from snouts and ears, and it works pretty well. My kids can learn some computer skills and are comfortable with the technology, and My wife and I use it daily for all sorts of things (weather, forums, news, medical advice, shopping, etc.), so perhaps it wasn’t all a waste.

I use netscape, IE, and opera ... depending on what machine I'm on. Here at work I have XP pro & RedHat 7.3 at my desk and at home I have XP home, and Win 2000. I earn my living as a very small network admin .. but I DON'T LIKE ANY OF 'EM !! I spent 21 yrs fixing F4's and never got tired of it ... the last dozen years of working PCs has me about around the bend.... retirement eligible in 9 months ...
Bird -- my 28 oz Estwing is what I've resorted back to until I get the Porter Cable into the shop.. and my son want's me to help him build stuff at the new house he just bought .... guess I better get on the stick and get that hammer fixed - or suffer the blisters I know will come. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
