I have seen it all the time where skid steers scoop gravel by the bucket directly out of a dump truck. I don't think it would be any different with a dump trailer. They leave the tail gate latched and then hoist the box part way up, to about 45 degrees and then just scoop from over the tailgate. If you have a long cord, or remote for your dump trailer control you could stand at the back to see, and hoist it to the point where it is almost wanting to slide. I am not sure if they have to keep hoisting as they go or if you pick the right angle and it just keeps sliding down to you. They can get a dump truck pretty much empty, just a little left against the tailgate, this way, one bucket at a time.
