So as part of owning my Escape I get points for any work done by Ford. Somehow I've garnered enough to give me $100 discount on Sirius. In order to get the benefit I have to agree to 56 pages of CYA ford crap legal stuff!

Now I usually try to read the boilerplate crap I'm going to sign. (drives a lot of people I deal with NUTS) But this is too much!
Are all the other car makers doing this?

Good question but the automakers are all about fine print and inflated prices today.

My wife has XM or Sirrus in her new Suburban and never turns on the radio. I believe it was part of the package that included the On Star.

Yes..., but you knew that already. ;)

I have to wonder. Most dealerships charge premium prices for parts and labor. According to their website, you can get Sirius for a couple of hundred bucks per year.
Are the rewards worth the extra price?

I've sent Sirius an e-mail requesting they quit spamming me. Not much point in having their service if it cuts out for at least ten minutes at the start of every trip due to mountains in the way. I wouldn't subscribe for more than $10.00 per year.

The last time that I subscribed I believe it was $84.00 for the year, up front. Besides the poor signal, their repertoire of music was pretty limited. I was sure that the Stones recorded more than 3 songs in their career, yet that was all that I seemed to hear. Plus every other song they had to run an ad promo for another channel, or just telling how they were ad free...

I noticed the same thing. Dropped them when the subscription expired.

When I got my Ram a few years back it was included for a couple months. Listen to it for a couple of days and the self promoting ads and not being able to find a mix of music I liked I gave it up. Then had to put up with 2 years of spamming snail mail and a few phone calls 'till I unloaded the expletive gun on the poor sap that had the misfortune of calling me for the umteenth time.

I had a new company truck which came with XM back in 2009, when President Obama introduced his credit card debt relief. I was miles from cell service when the phone started ringing. WTF?!?!?
It was the Sat phone. Somehow a telemarketer had dialed that number and was trying to sell me relief on my credit cards. The only trouble is, I didn't have any.

I used to pay for a year in advance which saved me a lot of money. You had to remember to cancel though or they would renew at full price. After I dropped them I was sent a questionnaire. One question was about autorenewal, so apparently I am not the only one with that complaint.
Yet it appears they still require ot for a subscription

My 2018 Ram came with something. I was unable to figure it all out. I just ignored the repeated messages and it finally went away.
