Many small grasshoppers here too Don. Wish I had the money to spray them and to put down weed killer too. There has been a large flock of grackles showing up maybe once a week. Hopefully they'll put a dent in the grasshopper population.
Sounds like I'll spray when this drys a bit. HS

I have been considering Guineas, just for bug control. The drawback for me is I sleep days generally and they are LOUD

Just on the news. Meat prices at a 27 year high!!

Attributed to less mo cows and higher demand, drought and feed prices. Some virus in pork has driven demand down for that and raised it for poultry and moo cow.

We have two Canada geese that have set up residence near to our corn feeder. They show no trend toward completing their migration. They seem very happy to stay here where the food is easy and the ponds are close with minnows to eat. Our kitties have learned to give them a wide berth and not approach them.:)

I was coming out of HEB in Bastrop --- soaked to the skin loading groceries in the truck. Haven't looked at rain gauge yet - still raining here at home. Time for a 2o'clock nap ....Veggie soup and grilled cheese for supper...with the wife's peach and cranberry pie for dessert.

Jim, after this winters global warming, I can't blame them for staying here where it only averages 40*:D I have had geese and swans and never met a house kitty that would willingly take one on:laughing: Maybe they are "geriatric" geese and tired of the travel:confused3::rotfl:

Mike, when you wake up mike it will be a different kind of day. Clear skies, but just as windy. I have a oatmeal cherry peach cobbler in the oven and am snacking on my "substitute Velveta"/Rotel w/ toast.

It was so dark here late morning that the night time security lights all came on. Lots of wind, lighting and gauge had a little over 1 1/4" but, had to be more since the rain was going sideways at the peak of the storm. Temp. dropped from 73 at 5 am down to 46 at 11am.

Warming back up now at 54 degrees but, still windy. The storm shredded our 4' x 6' Lone Star and US flags on 30' flag poles this morning. We buy new ones every spring so, time to replace anyway. We buy the Tough-Tex flags at Kronberg's Flags in Houston but, they just barely make a year with our winds. Sent from my iPad using TractorByNet
