I can't believe that "attachment" moved over 1000 yards of material! That something like 70 tandem loads....Amazing.

Jim: I agree, 1,000 cy is more than I dreamed we could move in a week but here are the numbers:

We ran 6 days at 10 hours per day, (60 hours total)
Average Cycles were 4.5 to 5 minutes per load
Average 1.5 cubic yards per load

60 hours x 60 minutes = 3,600 minutes
3,600 minutes / 5 minute cycles = 720 loads
720 loads x 1.5 cy per load = 1,080 cubic yards

We could have really improved our production if we had a place to dump that was closer. The one thing that helped our production was my Dad on the NH 8970 leveling and compacting the fill area at the dump site.

I really felt this was a good test to determine the capability of the scraper. I had quite a few spectators during the project (mostly farmers) who were amazed at the amount of dirt we could move an hour.

If someone knows the dates and times of the Farm Equipment show in Louisville, could you please let me know, I would appreciate any information/websites, Thanks.

WOW, Could you dig a basement with one? Ends would ramp but how straight would the sides be. Mine has R-4's 74" wide.

DDT: If you had a FEL you could remove the couple of inches left by the 6' wide scraper cut each time you made a pass. This would keep your front and back wall staight. I haven't tried it with the scraper but I did that on a retaining wall cut with a 6' box scrape before I bought the 7 footer.

I don't see any rocks in that demonstration film....Not sure how it would handle the rocky soils of New England.

What a great implement.

I'll have to try and see one in person - and it would be nice to find a place that rents them to give it a try.

I had a Deere 750 out to move some dirt last week - $90 per hour adds up pretty quick - but he sure can move a lot of dirt in that hour, not to mention all the stumps he tore out.

WVBartMan,
I thought I would run the hoe down the sides first, this way if I hit some crap I can move over to miss it. The last people buryed alot of car parts. I am trying to dig them up and haul it off. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I asked Darrell about the rocks, he said it will slide over them unless your deep enough to pop them out. I ordered one today. I might trade my 6' primary grass seeder and my 6' rear discharge finish mower in on them, this won't leave much difference. I should get a good deal, I told him to display it and take it to the home and garden and farm show then I will get it in the spring.
Some thing I asked Darrell, tell his dealers to buy one and rent it out, there is alot of folks that would do this for one time jobs. So tell your dealers.

DDT: My brother inlaw is trying to talk me into selling him my scraper and buying a bigger one for my tractor. My brother inlaw has been researching these scrapers and found one that has a capacity of 2.5 cy for little bit more money. See link below:
http://www.ashlandind.com/35d.HTML

My questions is do you think my Kubota L5030 could handle the Ashland 25S (2.5 cy capacity) scaper? I know I could hook it up to one of my bigger tractors but the problem is the amount of room needed to turn the bigger tractors. The Kubota L5030 is the perfect size for what I'm doing and I really want to size it for that tractor. I figured if I had any problems loading it to its maximum capacity I could always settle for 2 cy.

Any opinions would be welcomed.
