( How about a hot water heater hose going from the tank into the pipe. Can you run a snake into the pipe and see it you have an obstruction? )

Well, that was plan A. It failed because it couldn't get past the splice from last year's accident with the backhoe! So after cutting thru ten feet of ice, the snake couldn't finish the job.

So Plan B was put into action. I drove to work (which has that wonderful unlimited municipal water supply!) and filled my 300 gallon sap container with tap water. The truck is in the driveway, pointed uphill, with a hose running from the tank to the cistern. 300 gallons only gave me a quarter fill, but it's enough to get by for now if we go into conservation mode!

Sorry to hear about all you guys problems! I have been in the "no water in the winter" situation before myself when my well pump died once for 5 days. Definitely a huge pita.

Jerry, that is a hugeeee loss for you I'm sure. Is that something that is covered by insurance? Does anyone have any idea who would do such a thing?

Are you contracted with Tyson or someone to raise those chickens ?? Is there good money in your business ?? Are these layer chickens or chickens for meat ??Just curious....

I can't understand what would possess someone to do something like that, not once but twice. It comes close to destroying any faith I ever had in mankind. I think I'll become a hermit, sit up on my little hill and let the whole world pass by.
