Yes, plan on spending a day at the factory and taking the maintenance training.

Thanks Rob,
That is a good price. My attachment list will be a little longer but distance (Montana) will be a little shorter.
Still looking at the possibility of picking up everything at PT and driving it back. Talked with Scott and they still do not know if there will be a production run in August but he felt there would be as the demand is growing.

( Ramps (For ease of loading - why does PT always put this little phrase down on their description?) )

Because almost nobody who shows up at the factory with a trailer has any ramps. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

We did because we brought our own from home, but Terry said that 85% of the people who take delivery in Tazewell don't have any. PT has to lend them a set.

My guess is they would really like them to buy a set instead. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I bought some spray paint at TSC. It is called:

BPS (best paint sold)
AGRI SYSTEMS
Tractor Implement ENAMEL.
Part # 5339-10
John Deere Green

I used it to touch up some wear off spots that have developed on the PT425. These spots are on the rear corners of the unit, where it runs through the bushes and brush if going in reverse, and the leading edge of the front shelf where it gets debris from the mower, brush hog and general weeds and such.

From what I can tell, it is as near an exact match as I can get in a spray can. $3.99 a can.

You can see by this photo that I did the corner of the unit. The drips and runs in the center of the right rear side are from the factory, not me! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Also bought some gloss black to touch up the loader arms and quick attach area.

Part # 5339-16.

Turns out the PT425 black is flat black, not gloss black. Oh, well. Mine will be gloss after a few years of touchups. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks MR, thats great info to have as my 425 will arrive the end of the week. I'm sure it will have the usual skuff marks from transport company.

What attachments did you get with it?

Have flights booked to Tazwell arriving ROA 12n on the 26th and return the 28th. Talked with Scott about testing many different attachments during the morning and maintenance training in the afternoon. The usual attachments , two buckets, forks, mower, tiller, minihoe, snow blade. Then depending on what I see, I will order cement mixer, auger, boom pole, custom plate. Any suggestions such as extra blades, filters, etc?
Taking my wife with me so she can enjoy testing it out.

I think you will find the PT prices for filters about 3 times as much from other sources.

I found that I could buy Deutz OEM filters from my local Deutz distributor for 1/3 the price quoted by PT.

I'd get one extra hydraulic filter so you have something to compare it to when you buy locally. Then buy locally from then on out.

I bought extra finish mower blades, but have yet to use them. I'd skip them if you aren't going to mow that often. There have been some alternative blades posting here... but I'm sure you know that seeing how you've been reading here for so long /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Check out the pallet forks while you are there. I only use them a dozen times or so a year, but they are very handy for moving stuff. The were only $250.00 two years ago. They were well worth it.
