Do you just have to pull ?

No, no. Yours are NOT the AG type that just require pulling. I was talking to lpkiz about what he said in post # 17.

yeah I realized that afterwards and deleted my comment. by the look of it I have to pulldown the collar and pull the hose up but the collar don't move at all. I'll have to unscrew the hose I think but i don't want a do this yet. have to sort out a backup plan to plow first.

Yes, but there was a very good suggestion from another guy above who said holding the metal hose connector elbow and pressuring it downward may release the pressure so you can move the collar. I'd certainly try that. [i.e. push downward on the elbow hard while trying to move the collar, then pull the connector out hopefully.]

If you're interested, here's a close-up of the inside of the control valve. When you push the joystick forward, past the "GO UP" portion, a plunger will go down into that socket; the grooved end of it is supposed to click into that snap-ring and stay there (though they often don't). That is the float position, where any device on the front end (FEL, blower, broom) will stay down only by its own weight but still be free to rise if the ground does.

First pic shows the end of the float control plunger, with the groove on the end. Second pic is looking down inside the float control socket, showing the split ring at the bottom. A good idea to take that apart --when you can get to it-- and clean & lubricate it.

One other thing you could try: Remember I said earlier that those valves will release by moving the outer sleeve either up OR down? Assuming it's rusted inside, try a small drift punch & a small hammer on the top of the sleeve to try to break it loose by going DOWN. That might just break it free. And as far as the plastic cover and prying up, I wouldn't worry about it -- as I said, I eventually removed mine permanently-- it's just a piece of molded fiberglass.

So I just went out to my tractor to confirm above -- I now have the blower attached, and apparently that has slightly different connectors, which do NOT go either up or down to release. My FEL connectors, however, DO release in either direction. Your FEL connectors do look like my FEL connectors.

So if I understand the Float valve is behind the control valve. I have to unscrew 1 and 2 and grease the spring?

So you collar mouve up or down on yours. Sound they have sand or rust inside that prevent the collar from mouving.
