Hello All!
Wife has always wanted her own tractor, while running errands recently drove past a Satoh S-650G sitting in the front yard. Looked it over, she said "I want that!" and we called the number on the sign. The guy met us later that afternoon, sheet metal looked like termite damage, tires had quite a bit of rot, but the little Tractor that could fired right up and ran fine. Owner wanted $1300, I said $500, then he said $700, I said $600 CASH NOW and the rest is history. Got a Triangular Slow Moving Vehicle placard at Loews and drove her home (5 miles). Good thing it never stalled out, electrical system was not charging, but the battery was new and was enough. Wifey, following in car, constantly complained about slow speed, despite my admonitions that you don't want to go fast on a tractor.
She'll learn.
So now my attention is getting it reliable, Alternator Shop rebuilt the unit, but said it was working before, so I ordered a Sparex Regulator and will checkout the harness. Distributor Advance is shot, won't hold any vacuum, so I need to locate another. Also need some Oshkosh Bib Overalls and a big Straw hat to complete the look.
Overall a great little Tractor that likes to run and is easy to keep up.
