When i used to work electronic repair.. we had a few extra repair codes we tech's would write on tickets. The sales people got the tickets and would ring up the regualr codes for the customer when they picked it up. Occasionally we would have a new sales guy that would call back and ask what this or that code was.. here were my favorites:

DEU - Defective End User

DUI - Defective user interface

and the best..

TSTU - Too stupid to use

In my previous occupation, such codes were also common, but I'm afraid most of ours couldn't be printed on a family friendly website.

My wife has a bad habit of leaving things in the trunk of her car... once she bought a large bag of shrimp and three days later when I open the trunk... there it is! Big $$$ wasted.

I think I may have posted this before, but for a few years I was in charge of the police auto pound in Dallas. We had one lot right next door to an apartment complex, and one hot summer night a pound attendant called me about 2 o'clock in the morning and told me they'd gotten two complaints from people in those apartments about a bad odor coming from the auto pound. He thought they had located the source of the odor; the trunk of one of the impounded vehicles and we did not have a key for that vehicle. Naturally, the pound attendants were concerned that there just might be a body in the trunk of that car. Of course, I told him to just call a uniformed officer to be there as a witness and open the trunk of that car by whatever means were necessary. Sure enough, it was shrimp that was well aged.:D

Had renters that complained one time that there must be something wrong with their apartment because their utility bill was too high. We told them none of the previous renters had ever complained about their utility costs and suggested they might be doing something to cause the problem.

Found out later that someone had told them that it was cheaper to turn off the central gas heater and to use individual electric heaters. Well apparently they didn’t quite grasp the concept, because instead of using individual electric heaters for each room they decided to just use the electric kitchen stove and use it to heat the whole house. Now one problem with that is the kitchen is at one end of the house and has a high ceiling and the kitchen would get very hot before the heat would ever travel to the rest of the house. Well then to take care of that problem our geniuses installed a window air conditioner in the kitchen to cool down the kitchen when ever they had the stove on to heat the house.

Yes Stupid really does exist.

My ex, wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. She thought she might be pregnant and went to the Dr. The Dr.'s office told her they needed a urine sample and gave her a bottle to get it in. She couldn't see how to get the sample without getting pee on her hand-so-she peed in the stool and dipped the sample out. Test came back negative and my youngest was born 7 months later. True story!!!

. It is amazingly difficult to explain to one of the 'tards just how an airconditioner (or refer for that matter) work and why it doesn't work in the middle of a room.

On the subject of driving distance/time. I navigate by both methods at the same time with more importance given to travel time.

Also the European conceptof distance. We have a german niece in Germany. She came to the states on visit to someone and thought we could meet her at the airport for a short visit. Airport is in Chicago, we are in Wa state. I was stationed in Germany for 6 years and being almost central I don't think there was anything on the continent more than 6 hours by car from my location...well, Western Russia would have been a stretch.

I once knew a girl.. real sweet blonde ( really ) that had a lamp that had a loose socket.. light would flicker when a door was shut.. etc.. so she removed the bulb and wrapped the base in aluminum foil so it would not move around in the lamp socket... and she didn't know why the breaker poped when she turned it on... ( true store... Sweet nice girl.. no clue though.. )

We were getting a Douglas A26 air tanker ready for the fire season. Had the sheet metal off both engines to do compression checks. Once that was done, "William" was asked to bring the cowls back to the airplane. They had been stored inside while we ran the engines. When he didn't return, we looked for him and found him behind the hanger looking for cows.
