Neat and clean. Do you take it through the car wash when finished using it? Brings back memories.
Noted yours has the different square chain than shown for the New Idea spreader the OP has. Your Deere chain comes apart differently.

And to LTF, when you rework the apron, make particular note that there are equal number of square chain links on both sides. The way the flights are broken, makes me think there may be a link short on one side causing the chain to ride over a sprocket and get out of synch. Just a passing thought.

The last post didn't add my find, so this is what I got! Now (scratching head) how to use it?

Hi guys, just an update. The handyman finally got timt to wield the T-bar on this past Saturday, I didn't get to help because there was only one shield, but we are planning to have a learning time when we are not trying to get something fixed. Also, he didn't use the small welder that showed above, there was a huge gas powered one that I thought was a generator in the other corner... haha!

He figured that the chain needed to have one link taken out on both sides to tighten it up and then when working on tightening it we counted that the last person had one more link on the right side then the left!!! Also, on the spreader both shearbolts were, well sheared.

Sunday, I hooked it up to the Ford and used the FEL on the Kubota to fill it and got 5 loads put out on one of the fields. That came out to 8.5T spread! I know that may not seem like a lot to you guys, but I am not used to buying, calculating, or moving any thing where the unit is tons !

It was interesting moving from the one tractor to load which is basiclly an automatic, to spreading with a real manual (this is was my first real day of using the Ford). I spread on a nice flat field to get the feel for it. (Did you know that rocks fly farther than dirt? I do now, ouch.) I think I am going to have some trouble getting into the spreader into the back field, though a run that will cause me to make 3 sharp turns (the draw bar has a ball on it and so the spreader is not centered and it is just a pain to turn, ugh).

So I am planning on getting a second draw bar, not that the turns will be any easier, how do I know what Category I need?

One other question, the spreader has a spread/clean feature (with a pull string), the spring for the mechnism has come off and I can't figure out were to reattach, anybody have a picture? It doesn't matter until I am done and then it would be nice.

Also, I can't find Agco User Manuals anywhere online, can someone let me know if I am just missing a link?

Thanks for all the encouragement.:D
