I haven't seen ",,,,,,,,,,,,Thingy,,,,,,,,,,,,," around TBN for several months, was wondering what happened to him. I did a search, seems his last post was in May. Then I read some of his last posts, seems he may have been banned, then came back as "gunta" and was banned there too.

He could be a real pita, but reading his posts always made me laugh, especially if I wasn't on the receiving end .

Anyone know anymore than this?

I believe that if he was banned he would have "banned" under his handle instead of "platinum member".

I didn't always agree with everything he had to say, be almost always had to chuckle at his comments. I did agree with a good bit of his opinions at that. He just had that "THINGY way" of getting under peoples skin at times. I've been accused of that same thing a time or two myself, so no way I hold that characteristic against anyone. They're only words, what we post here. Better than a sharp stick in the eye. And THINGY's words were funny Just over joyed I never had them directed at me!

He wasn't banned as THINGY, but for some reason he changed his handle to GUNTA and was banned as GUNTA. Gunta only made 5 posts and none seemed bad enough to be banned for so he must have made some post that was so bad it was deleted and he was banned.

If you look at some of the older posts...or the list of members, you see a number of member who were quite active then just lost interest, I suppose. PFoxy (from Vermont or Maine) comes to mind.

Find the "Search" option atop this page. Do a search (by username) for Thingy and then "find all posts", you can't miss them, lots of comma's,,,,,,,. Read up a bit. You'll see what we're talking about. Someone said it best, sometimes Thingy would even give you a hard time if you paid him a compliment

Fortunately, I never found myself on the receiving end of his harshing, but in a twisted sort of way, it was always fun to see someone squirm when they were the butt of his semantics.

Scott_Vt has a quote by Thingy as his signature. It's hilarious, especially if you remember the thread that Scott got it from...we had been talking about killing Bumblebees and Thingy pointed out how he would kill them with a badminton racket. Then he said how he kills yellow jackets, voila', there you have it.

I remember when he came back as Gunta he said something about with his computer and cookies. I surmised that he had set his computer to remember his password and the cookies were deleted and he could not remember his password so he just created a new user name. He was opinionated, but I did see a few threads where he was just trying to start a flame war with people. To be honest, I really don't miss all of the commas.
