My box blade has two cutting blades, one aimed forward and the other facing the rear. It makes a good mini-dozer. I think it is far superior to a FEL for certain things, sometimes snow removal. The downside is having to look over your shoulder so much to drive backwards (after a while on longer straight sections you can just use the mirrors.) A big advantage to the boxblade in reverse is that I have hydraulic TNT on my 3PH. This gives you the ability to make fine adjustments in several directions that a FEL can't begin to duplicate.
My rear blade will not clear the rear tires so it can't be rotated 360 degrees but it can be turned around backwards prior to mounting and all motion being relative (thanks Uncle Albert) if you back up the tractor you get the effect of a front blade. By angling the blade, while driving forward or backwards, you can push snow in one continuous drive instead of having to go through all the manipulations that a FEL requires in snow removal duty. One trip out to the road and one trip back with no backing up and jockying and voila, you are done.
KingKutter blades are not very HD but are just fine for snow clearing and spreading gravel and such for driveway maint. Just don't let a corner dig into the ground and then back up (when mounted for forward driving) as it is easy to tweak one. Again, going forward or backwards with an angle blade when you have TNT gives you finess and agility that no amount of jocking around with a FEL can duplicate.
I am NOT anti-FEL. I have a good HD one and use the heck out of it but not as a substitute angle blade or mini-dozer/grader.
