Thanks, I just hope the door can be repaired so that the whole door and frame won't have to been replaced. (the door people are coming out tomorrow)

While backing up into the tractor shed one night I remember thinking, "That's funny... What's holding the tractor back? I must be losing power. Now what do I do? I'll put it in low gear." I turned to reach the shift lever and realized I had raised the FEL to clear the new garden post I had just put in that day.
Yup. Still raised. Raised all the way up to the roof rafter. Of course the bucket forks were on it. My buddy who helped me frame the shed said, "we'll double that first rafter to make it stronger in case you ever bump it.":confused2:

Needless to say I didn't shift it to low gear.

I DID shift it to low FEL. Suddenly the power was back and the tractor shed lived to see another day.

Has to be a few years ago now, i was pulling hay out of my big barn with the fel on my 1650 oliver. So now i have a 1800pound bale on the front and the ground is really spoungy. I tilt the bale sticker foward and lift up with the main lift. As i did the bale twisted and caused the tractor to slide a little bit. I hit one of the main posts of the barn. Snapped the tripple 2x10 header. Needless to say i was pissed, i was able to patch it up with some bar steel. Thank god the header broke three feet past the post.

Year and a half later a torndao takes the barn :(

When your Dad begins to smile again, tell him he should be glad you weren't driving a forklift with a roll of carpet on it. You don't even want to know what kind of damage can be done when you have a 1000# roll of carpet sticking 12' out in front of you - or how easy it is to do that damage ... :confused2:

This thread provides yet another reason to get a narrow, rather than wide grapple rake. Those things really stick out in front; a wider unit will swing those tines in a very wide arc when you turn. I have a lot of scarred trees along my woods trails, but (so far) no puncture wounds in the sheds or vehicles.

The garage door guy came today, and it won't be nearly as expensive as we thought. While they are out here, they are also installing an opener. ;)
