Timber Frame Build - Round 2

It puts out more than enough sound and is crystal clear with even sound throughout the patio.

Me thinks a "Sample Sound Video" is in order! :licking:

I think I can handle that. Will be there tomorrow setting up chairs for a wedding.

How do you get your chairs out there? Trailer? Cart? Where do you store them?

How do you get your chairs out there? Trailer? Cart? Where do you store them?

For the weddings prior to last weekend the chairs were provided by the wedding party. Our new outdoor chairs just arrived last week and we used them for last Saturday's wedding. After I put them on pallets and used the tractor to move them. When the remodel is finished we will be providing them along with setup for all of the weddings. I'm not sure how I am going to transport them yet. My thoughts are either an enclosed trailer that I can pull out for each party or a 4 wheel type wagon with horizontal posts to hang the chairs on. Could then pull inside the shop when not in use and back out when needed. I'm leaning toward and enclosed trailer. Either will be stored in my shop side of the building.

Here's are some pics from Saturday's wedding. We used all 250 chairs and filled the patio area almost completely up. Plenty of chair and isle spacing. We could tighten things up a bit if needed and could get another row and probably 20-30 chairs in but the patio space is perfect for the 250 chairs we have available. Thursday we move the rest of the cedar trees from home to the wedding area.

That looks fantastic. I have 70 of those chairs that I bought used from a garage sale and want to get a bunch more. Where did you get yours?

I found that a lot of people prefer to stand, Even with 70 chairs, I've never had them all used, but I haven't had very many weddings at my place yet.

I'm keeping mine in a shipping container, which takes time moving them from the container, to the trailer, then all that's involved in setting them up, and cleaning them from the dust that seems to cover them after being in the container. Then washing them and putting them back in the container seems to take forever. I like your enclosed trailer idea. It cuts down on the number of steps needed setting up and putting them away.

Got a text this evening from our timberframer. Didn't realize our project had started. John said it was well underway and still looking at January to stand the frame.

Very good prices. Thanks!!!!

Your welcome Eddie. I did a lot of looking and they were the best I found. They also sent me a sample chair of both the outside and inside chairs we are using for free to check quality before ordering.

Tonight is our last wedding reception. We are officially shut down after tonight to start the building remodel. I've got a roll off dumpster coming Monday for the start of our inside demo. I also checked a couple more items off off my list this week which means the outside wedding area is officially done other than the two post timber bent coming with the building frame in January.

First off was moving the cedar trees I needed for creating a privacy screen behind the wedding area. I started a land clearing thread at my home about this time last fall that came to a grinding halt when work got in the way. In the process I found a lot of nice naturally growing cedar trees. The last couple weeks I went back to work clearing some of the overgrown land so that we could get spade truck to them. Here are a few pics and video of the spade truck in action.

Here's video of them spading one of the cedars. This one was 18' and the smallest of the ones we moved. Most were in the 22-24' range.

Second on my list was wrapping up the sound install. I still needed to figure out a way to easily tie into our speakers with my mixer and amp. The speaker system is a 70 volt 2 channel system which is typically used for a more permanent setup. The amp output is a direct wired output instead of xlr or speakon so I needed an easy way to connect my amp when setting up. I ended up using a 4 wire speakon cable and connector. This works great as it only requires a single cable run from the amp to my connection point on one of the stone columns. The system can be setup and ready to play music in 2-3 minutes.

Here's the output from the amp. I cut a short speakon cable in half to give me a short cable that could be direct wired to the amp output. A speakon coupler allows my to connect here with a longer cable to run to the connection point on the stone column.

For the connection point from the speakers I used an outdoor single gang box and modified it to fit a 4 wire speakon connector to handle both channels from a single cable. I soldered and heat shrunk all of the connections as well for peace of mind. Hopefully it make for a reliable setup for years to come.
