If it's a Pergo type laminate made of compressed paper fiber and a picture of wood on it, I would avoid it. If it's not a name brand, I would run away from it. First, ignore any warranty. At bets, if there is a problem, they will mail you a replacement and it's up to you to replace it. The Chines stuff breaks off at the corners. It's pure junk. The better name brands will all absorb moisture from the humidity in the air. Then over time, the edges will rise as the compressed paper fiber expands. In most houses, it's real obvious when looking at it when the light catches the ridges. It's also slippery, and for something commercial, slippery is always dangerous.
There are a lot of new hard rubber vinyl type floors out there that I like a lot better over laminates. I'm drawing a blank on the better brands, but they are less then a good quality laminate. Plus you don't need padding under it. For me, I personally don't think there is anything better then tile.
