Time For A New Kitchen Faucet. Recommendations?

I've used Kohler faucets and sinks in maybe six houses over the years. Never a problem of any kind so have no idea about customer service!

Reviving this thread because I need a new high arc 4 hole kitchen faucet/spray combo- snip-

so what's the 2017 best faucet in the TBN opinion?

I put a Blanco faucet in the kitchen when I did the addition over 12 years ago. Soapstone counters with under mount "two bay" porcelain sink.

Two years ago the faucet started leaking at the handle, so I called up the customer Service line.

They sent a replacement out that day, free of charge, including shipping!

We like it for it's simple lines. All metal except the "bumper washers" where metal would meet stone. Plastic has it's place!

Mmmmm SOAPSTONE! I'd love to put in soapstone! We've looked into it and there is a soapstone quarry we've stopped by on our travels from Virginia to Mississippi which sells remnants. Needs a new thread.

At this point in my life I'm painfully aware a bar of soft soap under a dripping faucet may outlast me. I'm more concerned about if whatever faucet I install doesn't outlast me and I have to get down under the sink in 5 or ten years and fix it.
I HATE plumbing in bathrooms and kitchens, tight spaces, I'm a 6'2" guy.
I've put in a mix of Delta's, Moehn's and maybe 1 or 2 others over my lifespan. Probably 20 total over the last 40 years and have had only 1 "rot" (plastic/cheap) and had to replace a few screens. Most of the 20 were replacement because SWMBO thought the old one was dated or too corroded, maybe 3 were new construction. So based on MY personal experience almost anything would do.

But in this age of companies being bought bought and sold I don't want to "invest" in a brand of faucets (I've got probably 6 or so to do in different houses within a couple of years) and find they were turned over to a cheap foreign manufacturer.

I install all the different brands and found that with the big name brands, they are all pretty much the same. You are paying more for fashion and trendy more then anything else. They all have plastic inside them and they all will have the one that has it's issues. You just call customer support and they send you out the parts you need. None have been any faster then the others, and every time I've had an issue, the part they sent fixed it.

Let your wife pick the one she thinks looks the nicest knowing it really didn't matter what brand it was.

This ^^ ..

btw, 'we' install Delta unless otherwise requested by a customer. Much easier to plumb-in (esp vs Kohler) and user can be shown how to replace cartridges vs shell out for a service call.

Kitchen faucets seem to get beat on badly, pots and pans bouncing around etc. Most if not all of our faucets are American Standard which I think when we built our house were still made in the US. After 14 years none of our bathroom faucets have had a single issue but the kitchen one sure has. Just call them up and they'll send a new part. Just need the receipt which I have a copy of. Parts are also easy to find on Amazon. I also like Eddie's answer.

I tend to stick with Moen...figure sooner or later they will have fully transitioned to a replacement cartridge that will fit everything and I only need to keep one on hand (working at my MIL's house recently with an older Delta...I was staring at 3 possible solutions to fix a leaking shower valve, none of them cheap). Now the downside to that is "buy it for looks, buy it for life" means you get free service parts from Moen (was a time you got them ONLY from Moen meaning you had to wait for the mail...not good). Btw my plumber friends insist that now Moen and Delta make different versions depending on whether they are sold through the "big box" stores or through a plumbing supply house. I guess I can confirm that from the Moen web-site where you get a different menu of options depending on how you answer that question.

It's been that way here in 'the mitten' for a year or more .. so I always suggest checking a local supply house. Not all sell only to pros.

btw, Today's Laugh: .... 'Price Pfister' ... :laughing::laughing::laughing:

Delta has had and seems to still have a good reputation for long life, easy enough repair if needed, and good customer service and parts available. Even on decades old faucets. Many of the other brands are not so easy to access parts if / when needed.
