How much traction is lost by using industrial tread tires in lieu of ag tires? I may need to do some road traveling and the ag tires give me a bumpier ride than I would like.

I also need to be able to work in the fields throughout the year - some mud and snow to be expected.

Do industrial tread tires have the same life span as ag tires assuming all things equal?

Thanks

Concern about wearing down tires used on blacktop is one reason I went with R4's this time. Since the tractor only has 208 hours on it so far, it's too early to tell if that assumption was correct.

During last Winter's snows I can tell you my B7500 w/ R4's handled a 6 foot scraper every bit as well as my Ford 1210 w/ R1's handled a 5 footer. The Ford is better in the mud because the R4's tend to get filled with mud

The R1's ride nicer than the R4's when comparing my two tractors. If the inflation pressure in the R4's is dropped to around 10 pounds, the ride is acceptable.......................chim
