Todays shop time.

I thought there would be a lot more posting on this thread with the holidays but maybe too many of you like me are finding your shop just way too cold for shop time?

yup, unheated barn but woodshop is heated. I won't work on machinery until it gets to 60 out and that isn't far off for my area.

does anyone have a preference for bulb type while working on equipment? LED, cfl, incadescent, halogen, etc.

I have things I want to do, but it's 20F outside, and I loaned my heater to my sister. I need to insulate and heat my shop......

LED, less bulk, less of a chance of getting burned or starting something on fire.

To much work to even have time to take pictures. Plus just took out my 9 year 5'x10' cnc plasma table and the new one will be here Mon.

The company I work for has been occasionally making dog houses to donate to different organizations. We just made 12 and sent them to a shelter 4.5 hrs north of here.
I was tasked with seeing this operation through so I volunteered my shop.

This is pretty much my problem too, or if I start working on something that I intend to try and document I get to involved in the work to mess with pics.

Strongly agree. the new 4ft LED fixtures from Costco were a huge improvement to my shop this year.

Jay, that is neat to see, great job.
I don't have a dog, yet..., but have friends who want to visit with their dogs, which I won't let inside the house.
Too much carpeting and not animal proofed at all. So I've always wanted a dog house for visiting dogs. Lots to buy
online and elsewhere but thought it would be better to build one in my woodshop. Not very complicated...and I like your
metal surrounds. As long as they don't put their tongue there in cold weather...

I hope you put your shop's name on each one.

I am slowly moving to LED's but the CFL's sure last a long time too...
had already replaced everything with them several years ago, like I think most of us did. Flickery light at times, maybe my imagination. LEDs
are simply brighter, have one right over my work area in the barn. 2000 lumen I think. Mounted in rafters.

Luckily for me, for once I was very slow on the technology trigger with CFL's so I went from incandescent and fluorescent lighting straight to LEDs... even waited until LED pricing became very attractive. :cool2:

My wife just bought two recesed LEDs for 12.99 in Costco. At this price I am tempted to change all light bulbs in the whole house for LEDs and be done with it. We have about 10 recesed light with LEDs and like them.
