My wife just bought two recesed LEDs for 12.99 in Costco. At this price I am tempted to change all light bulbs in the whole house for LEDs and be done with it. We have about 10 recesed light with LEDs and like them.

Yep instant on and dimmable now too. Nice energy savings. I have switched most all my canned lighting.

Since she bought only two I installed them in our bathroom where we have a bank of two lights on a dimmer. Surprise. They dimm but not turn completely off. There is about 10-15 mA current still going in. One light bulb and LED combo shuts off compeletely. It seems to me that you have to have at least four LEDs for the dimmer (made way before there was even talk about LEDs) to switch completely off. The LEDs are FEIT brand. I put them in another room on ON/OFF switch. They have pleasant light color.

No. It is fully electronic. Lutron Maestro 15-Watt Single-Pole/3-Way/Multi-Location Digital CFL-LED Dimmer - White-MACL-153MH-WH - The Home Depot It looks like this one but our was made 2004.

We have several banks of LEDs on the same dimmer and those work fine. But those are four lights and larger. We have two LEDs on a switch in our hallway. Both were also little glowing until the light in the switch died. I have a fluorescent light in the shop that also have lighted switch. It will "flash" just about every 5 minutes while turned OFF. Apparently the small current charges something in the ballast making it to do so.

Interesting ...... but .....What about the base of the jack?
That base of the jack angle is changing as the jacking is increased.
How would you mount the jack to compensate for the changing jack base angle?

My next project is a backhoe root ripper. Here's the blade I cut last year. I made this backhoe mounted scraper a while back and it has served its purpose in life. I was thinking about cutting it up and reusing the mounts, but I'm leaning towards building new ones.
