I have one in my shop and it works pretty good. One improvement I'm glad I made was make a lowered mount for it. My shop has 10 or slightly higher foot ceilings and I couldn't reach it if it was mounted directly to the ceiling. I made a mount that lowers the buttons on it to just inside of my maximum reach. The point of this is I have a hard time keeping up with the remote.
I wish I had 10ft or higher ceiling in my shop. Only 8ft and this thing will hang down 16in with eyebolt/carabiner connection. Not quite head knocking range but it is already a pain swinging anything 8ft or longer around with hitting the ceiling. I finally replaced my hanging 4ft fluorescent bulbs with the Costco 4ft LED units and mounted them flush (well uptight against the ceiling) to give me more space. Now I am going to hang this monstrosity that is 24in by 30in by 12in someplace where I will least collide with it.

I was thinking of attaching/tethering the remote near my light switch so it won't walk away.

heavy duty velcro might work nicely

the older we get the more we appreciate more light to work with. And with LEDs you can get
huge amounts of light and use almost no electricity. Not cheap to buy though, still. If each of those LEDs cost a penny to make
just how much should that work light cost?....though I have honestly no idea how much it costs to make an LED. I'm sure more for
a Cree. It's a very special diode but with mass production, it just can't cost that much to make any more. One would think...

Love my Costco LED lights. At Costco, I have seen them at $29.99, $24.99, and just before xmas it was $19.99. I have six mounted and four more for my shop addition that I hope to do this year! Instant on, bright white that blow away the old fluorescent ones and can put many more on same circuit which is important for me until I can bring more power to the shop.

Hi Terry, not the same ones. I think the brand is FEIT. I'll take a picture. Just after xmas they jumped up to $29, now they are $25 w/instant rebate. I bought some more impatiently at this price figuring it might be xmas or never before they are available again.

a very tiny project indeed on a hot day, trying to stay in a/c woodshop but still spent half my time at least in the shade outside.
Working on water wagon project, 55 water barrel in JD cart, previously used battery clamps, tired of sparks, wanted to do it "right".
So, ordered the proper marine switch, built my own switch panel out of scrap steel, and then decided it looked a bit vulnerable.
Another pic to follow, but I built a U shaped cage out of little wood pieces, and they were glued up last night. Clamps come off shortly.

I also bought proper marine battery connectors and crimped round connectors to go over the terminals. I need to solder those leads, I noticed
one was a little loose. Little loose always becomes lots loose...

I did as much of this inside today in the a/c shop but then installed it. Worked like a champ. Battery is old tractor battery given new life by this
desulphating charger. And I remembered to take the soldering gun outside and solder the crimp connectors that had not crimped enough. Gave them all a
tug and they were fine. I still have some wood locating strips to attach for the battery and the hose hanger when it comes in.

Made nine metal pots for my wife's flowers. It took me about 2 hours to make one. When designing the pots I estimated less than an hour to make one but a lot of time was lost by fitting the pieces together and measuring and cutting the bar for the stand. Looks like I will have to make more for friends, friends of friends etc. The original cut patterns resulted only in a minimal waste of metal making six pots from 48X96 sheet. The pots have large top surface relative to volume so watering might be critical. The new pattern will make three little larger but much deeper pots and will be much easier to assemble.

Those are very cool... please post material details. Thinks I should make a few for our deck.
