and because shipping costs had to be much higher than my local source.

I was pleasantly surprised at the shipping cost from Markham - 53" bar w/7 teeth from NC to PA was only $36.26

Not bad at all. I think it's a bit more for a 72" or 73" sent up here to Taxachusetts from NC... but not necessarily a deal killer.

It now looks like the local (MA) outfit will let me pickup without incurring a hefty shipping & handling fee after all... so maybe they are back in the mix of potential suppliers. We shall see.
