Well, I did it. After reading so many posts on how much people think of tooth bars, I had to get one.

The snow is gone now and I found time today to put the thing on. It cost me 325 for the 72 inch with 8 teeth. I put it on in about 20 min. using a torch to cut the two holes. I went out back of the shop and ripped 5 small trees out , each about 2 to 3 inches in diameter with one angled bucket plung each. It is sandy soil and an L48 Kubota but this would not have happened before the tooth bar. Yes, it does improve the usefulness of my loader, now I have to get used to how to use it and when to use it. It will make root clearing much easier than ever.

Thnaks to all who shared their knowlege on TBN.

Gray.

Gray: ...... I, too have read about all the advantages of a toothbar & like you have sprung
to add to my FEL. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
The installation was easy ( using the techniques that were reported here ) 3/4" holesaw worked great!
/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif My install was on a LA402 Kubota FEL @ $273
( 6 tooth from NH dealer) see photo.
It still is wet and soggy at my place, so it will be awhile before I can test. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ....RayBee

I got one this spring also and it is unbelievable what a difference it makes. I like it for brush even better than dirt and I hadn't been counting on that. It's even worth the extremely high $417 I paid for it.

I'm also including a closeup of the bolt-on bracket.
Notice the double slot ( I guess for flexibility of fitting many buckets ) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I hadn't seen this before on previous posts.
New Holland buys these from FFC to fit their buckets.

You can check the specs. here -- www.sweepster.com/buckets/tbar_sd_specs.htm /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif ......RayBee

Ray,

You may want to consider adding a few nuts to cover the threads on the bolts. All it takes is one stone to hit the threads and you will have a lot of fun taking the bar off.

I put my bolts in from the inside out and cut the extra off so that I didn't end up catching my leg on them easily either.

I wrap black tape around the exposed threads and cap the end with plastic caps. It seems to work.

Gray, whos tooth bar did you buy? Twenty min. install sounds good to me .Also if i might inquire as to price. The more I read posts about tooth bars the more I feel I'm going to need one. Thanks in advance for any info, also enjoy your new teeth. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif John
