Do you know what caused the Tucker to break down?

I don't. The boss told the story so it was a few years ago, at least 5. The dealer came up with a demo so as to prove how good a machine they are. They heading out in it to do one of our loops towing a implement and it broke down during that. The guys here weren't very impressed. That's all I know. They said there was lots of snow and drifting and it broke while in the deeper stuff.

our club has an older BR180. there is a 160 in our district and i believe they like it for what it does.
we also have a Prinoth Husky which is a newer br180.
the older machine gets a couple hundred hours per year, has ~3000 hours on it and has had some major work done to the undercarriage i believe. most of the issues are related to the use/abuse it gets from the many volunteer operators of various experience levels! I'd say they are relatively tough machines.
Some clubs in NS had BR's a number of years ago, maybe reach out to the NS snowmobile federation, i'm sure they'd point you in the right direction for advice!

The organization I worked for had 5 converted tractors at one time. New Hollands back then but this spring they sold a JD with Soucy pods which was the last uint. They swear they'd wouldn't go back to them again. I never operated them, but they talk about there high maintenance. The machines we have today are 375hp. None are perfect.
