I don't have much good to say about Tractor Supply this week
Over the last 3 days I've been to 5 different TSC stores rounding up parts for my PTO driven generator.
Not a single one had everything in stock although they all had an empty spot on the shelf for one thing or another
I found everything they claim to stock but #50 chain...they all had plenty of sprockets but no chain for the #50 sprockets on hand, they had #40 and they had #60!
Had to buy 4 pillow blocks, that took 3 stores to get all 4. Needed 4 bearings and that took 4 stores.
Found the sprockets at only one store, the first one I visited.
None of them stock shaft material for the sprockets, pillow blocks, pulleys they sell! Had to order that from McMaster.
Now tomorrow I have to go to an industrial supply house to get the chain, had to call 3 of them to find that!
Is there a run on #50 chain for some reason??? 7 places out of stock on it!
If I had to do it all over I'd order it off the 'net for sure....

It was still in a box, so they couldn't tell me the color or brand.Meanwhile, my truck and trailers remain blocked in my driveway by the world's biggest pile of loam sitting dead in the center of the street in front of my house (part of the town's road/sidewalk/treebelt reconstruction project). The Red Beast may have to be called in to move some of it so I can get out in something other than the ancient rusting econobox.

Question: Was the TSC's Mgr special on KK Tillers and Rotary Cutters just a sign in the store? or in print in any sale advertizement?
I haven't seen it on-line, and their current ad is for Labor Day Aug. 29 thru beginning of Sept.

No print or Internet ads that I am aware of... although I believe someone else reported similar "Manager's Specials" in other stores besides the new Merrimack, NH store.SkunkWerX said:
It took me completely by surprise... and I had been watching everywhere for news or ads for the store's Grand Opening. I found none. The TSC website hadn't even entered the new store into it's store locator database.

About these mangers specials..... i've been thinking about what i'll have to spend to make my two point Yanmar tiller work on my tractor...... and thinking the 48" KK on managers special is looking pretty attractive !

The tiller managers special existed here the 2 TSC stores I frequent here in southern Michigan.

To make a long story short: The 72" KK tiller is finally home. The PTO drive that came in was a Eurocarden as I had bet would come in as a replacement part for the missing Bondioli-Pavesi. But if you are ordering a complete new KK tiller and not a replacement drive for a KK tiller already on the lot... expect it to be the newer Bondioli-Pavesi.

Know the feeling! I think I will hold off on the tiller for a bit. I did get the bush hog and it seems to be working just fine. I was a bit upset when I went to pick it up as it was not King Kutter but Farm Force. I was told that it is the dstributor that TSC uses and it was a KK rotary cutter.
The manual came from FarmForce and it certainly isn't anything to write home about. Just really small and cheaply done! No parts list so I went into the service desk and they call Farm Force and I spoke to someone about the shear bolt and was told it was a class 2 1/2" x31/2" bolt. Well when I looked at the shear bolt in the PTO shaft it is a class 5 bolt. I down loaded the KK manual and it will do for now.
Had to remove the paint on the inside of the PTO shaft that connects to the tractor. Paint looks good but was thick enough that it was hard to get it to slide all the way on.
Next we found that the release button was way too difficult to push in far enough to release the shaft. Seemed like the pin itself was a bit too short and also painted with dirt in the spring making it nearly impossible to push all the way in.
So to cure the problem we welded a 1/4-20 bolt onto the end of the pin then removed as much of the paint from the spring and cleaned the area up a bit prior to adding a liberal amount of grease. Much easier to push in and release the shaft.
