Dougster, Good news about the 2500HD! I have been driving bow tie stuff for many years and have always considered it a good vehicle to run around in. Got into the buy US mode some years ago.
I've been in that mode for many years now. Wouldn't buy a foreign truck or car now if my life depended on it. Personal decision only... I don't criticize those that do.

And there it will apparently stay for a long time to come. :(

Pretty hard to discern "American" nowadays....most Dodge trucks and some Fords come from Mexico now while Toyotas are built here:cool:

Understood. My Chevy happens to have been made here, but I get your point. Still, I don't see myself ever driving a Toyota or Nissan truck even though I'm sure they are fine products.

This is true, but at the end of the day the money for that Toyota goes to Japan, I would think.

And Chevy is also building trucks in Canada and cars in Mexico and one would like to think the money stays here in America (?) after the vehicles are sold.

The way I look at it is some of the money must be staying here because they are hiring american workers.

I'd buy a Toyota truck in a minute if they ever offered a true diesel truck that could compete with my 96 Ford F350 4xx crew cab long bed diesel. So far they haven't done it:rolleyes: I've had the truck 11 years now and will probably keep it 11 more, by then we all may be driving electric trucks, or corn powered or whatever:eek: :D

That's the cost of doing business and it is an expense, so no taxes paid on that deal. The profit money is what is going back to Japan to improve their standard of living.
