Clearing trees for someone that wanted a better view of their lake. Branson 4520r and KRPAN 3.5e winch.
Was also splitting and stacking 20 cord for them too.
The splitter is a DR k22 kinetic splitter. Very fast. Had some issues with the motor (they replaced) and some factory settings but it’s working well now.
You have worked up a nice pile of split wood. The next part, stacken, is the only part I don't care for. Seems like Tracracer has the right idea for that.

20 cords... thats a 10 year supply for me!:D
He uses 10 cord per year. Local (major) supplier usually don’t get his delivered till the fall…and it’s wet. There is such a high demand up here and too little work ethic.
He wanted 10 cord for this year and another 10 cord for next year to get it really dry.
Just finished with someone else’s who wanted 3 cord.
I pull it off their property and then I don’t have to worry about storing and delivery.
I stack for them too so the retired people (who have the land and money) love it. Stacking goes fast because I use my kids 😁.

He is going to burn what you just cut yet this year? No way I could get away with that. Or even try.

I’m not a fan of stacking either but I have a couple of kids that can hand them to me so I don’t have to bend down much. Goes quickly.

That pic was from 2012 so I don't remember. I do have some tall S/F. I was just trying to show him what I call fairly steep and don't have many hill picks because I don't like stopping and getting off the tractor on a hill that much.

I probably asked you the same question in 2012. I like long bodied wood like that. Mine tends to be short and carrot shaped. I cut a white a couple of weeks ago which was around 20" on the butt and 14" at 12 feet. That first log was knot free, then I got into the green branches. I topped it off at 44 feet and it was around 7 or 8 inches.

They will make good logs to learn on when I get my mill next month. 👍

He is burning the beetle kill spruce. Mostly dry already.
Saved the wet stuff for his next year pile.
He’s used to having to wait with other suppliers till late…and it’s wet.

Ok, got it. I saw the green leaves and wondered. Now I see what looks like a dead spruce.

Did you already provide a thorough report on the mill you have on order? Which brand, max cut width, max board width, reason you chose this one over all the others? I finally got myself over the hump of spending the money and then Woodmizer's site said it was a 42 week wait. Some of the other name brands are booking into 2023. Yikes. Good times for sawmill companies. Curious what you decided on. Thanks.

We always used to put up firewood for the year in August.

On March 23 while it was on sale I ordered the bottom of the line Woodmizer, the LX25.https://woodmizer.com/Store/Shop/Portable-Sawmills/LX25-Portable-Sawmill It's scheduled to be built on August 12... hopefully I will have it for Labor Day. I chose it for price; also because it's a Woodmizer, and because it was very easy to build.
The ironic thing is that I also considered Norwood but couldn't find the secret code to get information such as price and build time; you need to contact a salesman for that. Yet their videos on Youtube are free, easy to find, and very easy to follow and understand.
Why don't they put the same guy in charge of their website? :D
