Trailer Modification

In the photos, it looks like the PT trailers have a quick attach mounted to the trailer for securing the front of the tractor. I wonder if that is considered legal. I can't tell what they use to secure the rear.

I made a few modifications of the trailer today. I built a section to hold a bucket on the front of the trailer.

I made bucket tooth hold down brackets out of the channel in the first picture. The second picture shows the backet mounted on the front top rail of the trailer. Three of the teeth of both the grappling bucket and the 4 in 1 with a Markem tooth bar fit into these.

Next are pictures of the brackets without the bucket. I welded the bucket tooth hold down brackets to the trailer, but bolted the other pieces. I want to be able to remove them if needed. I have a straight piece going from the front to the back to support the left back of the bucket. The right side of the bucket is supported by the hydraulic piston bracket on the bottom back of the bucket

I originally wanted to mount the buckets on the sides of the trailer, but I felt that they took up too much of the trailer insides, if I did not let them hang out past the fenders. Also it just did not seem safe.

I would appreciate any suggestions that you might have. This obviously must be safe since it goes on the highway.

Very good. You can put something under the bucket, too, I assume? Doubles the floor space. How are you going to secure the bucket?

Yes, another bucket or mower will fit under the top bucket. I was going to use the racheting straps to hold the bucket down. I use three on the tractor, I think one on the bucket should be enough. Do you agree?
Of course the brackets around the teeth will help in a panic stop. Also the guide pieces on the sides help.
