Trouble Convincing Signifcant Other to Buy SCUT

The last new tractor I got,, cost 50k dollars new,, I got it for 15K used,, but the cost of the new jeep she wanted cost 35k dollars,, so I'm thinking I broke even..:confused3::laughing:.. Lou

It's no wonder that divorce rates are at about fifty percent! If you don't have the respect and admiration of a woman, you have NOTHING!

Every other commercial on television (at least) makes the man out to be a complete Idiot! The wife, the kids and even the dog thinks he is a complete Moron. The woman is ALWAYS the smart one, depicted in only a respectfull and flattering manner.

What is going on here?

I respectfully disagree. We're having a very minor (in the grand scheme of life) disagreement about the best tool to accomplish a certain task and how much said tool should cost. This has nothing to do with a lack of respect or admiration.

I don't know the answer. I just know that I always heard that marriage and other relationships are based on compromise. I have found that compromise and the tension that it creates really eats away at the quality of life. As in, we will do what I don't like next weekend, and what you don't like the weekend after. It would be fine, maybe perfect in fact, if you could find a life partner with the same values! RARE, I would say!

When I spoke of the respect and admiration, I was speaking about the importance of attraction that a woman has for a given man. No respect and admiration = no attraction = bad (or no) relationship.

Well, ya gotta share some interests or you wouldn'tve gotten hitched, right? We both grew up in outdoor families & continue to love it, so it wasn't that much of a stretch to upgrade the equipment to do more outdoor stuff.

Usually only the timing & extent of the 'stuff'. She has learned to trust my judgement (mostly). It's all good. Life is short.

First off you need a min 40 hp TLB, and z turn mower, never can be to careful about having enough machine. Also, just show up with it and start working with it. If she isn't amazed by it, least the engine drowns out the yelling.

If logic doesn't work just remember sometimes a man has to let a women know who's the boss in the household. Show her who is boss, and make sure you look up the number of a good divorce lawyer before hand.

I disagree. Just saying, that may be how you "run" your relationships, but it's 2014 gentlemen. Not 1950. If my wife said "I'll divorce you if you buy a tractor," I sure wouldn't buy a tractor. I don't think your comment really has any place in this discussion. It's not helpful or constructive. If the guy wanted to divorce his wife, I'm sure he would know how to go about it. Clearly, he wants input on how to convince her it's a good idea to buy a tractor; I laud his interest in keeping her involved in the decision making. Relationships take two.
