Time for another update! I now have a rolling chassis! Still need to do some brake work and hook up the air lines, but at least I can move it out of the way if need be. My cab from England is being held up by US customs. I guess they think that Unimogs are a real threat to national security! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif They charged me $155 to Xray the crate and still have held it up for over two weeks now! The broker I am using said I should have it by Wed. I sure hope so. Here are some photos that I took today. Von

here is the tranny and more of the new brake lines and flex lines. I have used almost 70 ft of brake line on the chassis alone!

Nice job. Keep up the good work and pictures. Why are you having to pay for X-Ray's when the Government is the one requireing them?

Von, way cool. Just how many deer will you be able to haul with this when you get er done? Still deerless....working too much , no time to hunt, but into muzzleloader season here.

Again Von, your work is just incredible. When all is done are you planning on using it or showing it (or both)?

Very nice work, Von. Say, how is the shaft coming out of the rear of the tranny? Looks like it is inside a boot.

Thanks for the kind words guys! To answer a few questions:
Mossroad, The driveshafts are inclosed and sealed in torque tubes. They are water and air tight. You can just make out the breather fitting at the top of the tube before the boot.

Sassafraspete, Why I got charged $155 for customs to do thier job?...Well lets just say legal extortion. If you want your stuff you have to pay. What a racket, huh. You would think the goverment would stop such extoration,....Oh wait, it is our goverment do it! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif It must be right then. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Rob, I will drive it around for a while and then sell it and get something else to restore. Once its done, the fun is gone. Unless you brake it! then you get to fix it all over again.
