if the power unit were installed in a marine application, it may run continuously for several weeks. with lives depending on it.

If I had money, I wouldn't buy a Jag or Lamborgini . I would scour the planet for a nice original Lister. These poor quality clones are probably not worth the little they are asking. And a real crap shoot.

I thought you couldn't buy India Listers anymore due to the EPA banning the import of them???

The Listers are being brought in as "Compressors". In Canada, anyway.

Many feature cardboard shims.

I guess we are just fortunate here in Ea WA. The longest outage in the 34+ years I've been here was 28 hours. Hardly worth even the thought of standby power.

I do have a 3000 watt Honda but its used to power my tools when I'm out on the property. A friend worked on one of those big factory boats up in AK. They catch & process cod. Their diesel engines run 4+ months, non-stop, keeping the boat & refrigeration going. Once a commercial fishing boat leaves port - it will normally only shut down the diesel engine if there is a problem.

I just bought a yanmar ydg5500 portable and wired into the house with a gen inlet box. Probably took 3 hours to do. I bought it off of Craigslist for less than half brand new.

If i were to keep my tractor at my primary residence, i would have absolutely no problem running a pto genny for days. My B2920 uses about half a quart of oil in 200 hours. The coolant level has not budged in 400 hours.
