My 422 has the turf tires and I went to a local dealer for some chains. He told me that v-bar chains would not be appropriate for my tires and they are more meant for lug or v(mud) type tires. Seems to me he's full of it?

The v-bar chains would be good for ice and off road, but if you have cement or blacktop they will tear it up. I put regular 2 link ladder chains on my 1845 (R4 tires) and it goes good in the snow but I don't know how it would be on ice.

My previous Kubota B7100 with turf tires had V bar chains on it. Worked well for snow, ice and mud conditions for me. No damage to concrete or pavement that I could discern.:D

I have 4 link V-Bar chains on 23x9.5x12 turfs now. They work OK on the gravel drive ....... but after one attempt I stay away from the asphalt drive. The V-Bars will chew it up if you spin the tires.

I plan on getting some 2 link ladder chains off Amazon in the future. ($44.)

Thanks for confirming my gut feeling on this. Never dealt with chains before. No pavement or asphalt within 1/2 mile of here so it's 2 link v-bar for me!
