I'm serious when I say this but I'm having a hard time understanding why so many peopple think this is a "Wacky Warning". Would anyone care to elaborate?

because people who cant understand why its "whacky" are too self absorbed to have a sense of humor?

Self absorbed? I asked a simple question without malice and you answer with a personal attack, I guess I could be "self absorbed" or maybe I'm just not so arrogant to expect everyone in the world to think like I do. I see you are an "instructor" doesn't that mean you teach people things they don't know? Seems like if everyone just had the "common sense" that's thrown around on this board so often we wouldn't need any "instructors".

Even getting out of bed in the morning has an inherant danger. How long till our beds have that warning label on them?

Actually, I was thinking of something more along the lines of a warning sticker about getting INTO bed.

WARNING: May cause pregnancy in some women. And NOT just in the state of California.

I forget the exact story but some guy sued a motor home company because he thought the cruise control meant auto pilot of course smack up the RV. I understand the RV companys now say in there manual the vehicle does not have auto pilot.

How about a warning sign that says, "Caution, stopping to read all the excessive warning stickers can divert your attention from actual hazards with potentially lethal consequences."

That's one of the most useful ones I've seen yet! :)

Apparently you are self absorbed enough to take it personal, and self absorbed enough investigate my profile before responding.

I musta been having a senior moment if I put my job description in my profile. I have no intention of Instructing anyone on this board nor offering anything but sarcasm and contradictory information.

In hindsight, I should have removed your name from the quote, as no MALICE was intended so please forgive me for not understanding how thin skinned some people are.

If you want the (in the words of Paul Harvey) rest of the story then go here
--> Urban Legends Reference Pages: Cruise [Un]Control

Snopes is a great way to check stories before spreading them as true only to find they are oldy moldy stories out in many versions for years, sometimes interesting or funny, just not necessarily true.

Well... it was kinda direct... They coulda said

WILL CAUSE DEATH

Pat

I saw a risk assessment sheet for I think it was an acid for etching or something, anyway, the sheet said,
'do not swallow, fatal'.

It did say 'if swallowed consult a doctor', I guess saying 'if swallowed consult an undertaker' might be a little insensitive!
