Wallenstein BXM42

I just took delivery today of my new chipper mulcher.

Took me 10 minutes to attach it to my DX33 and put it to work on a pile of pine branches.

WOW it does the job as expected. It eats 4" branches and pine needles without à hiccup.

My 27 HP PTO is powerful enough for thr BXM42, no problem.

I am very pleased.

I love feeding the entire top of a pine tree in where it's 4" and smaller. Sucks it right in and makes a nice pile of chips.

I have a Kubota L3240 and am considering the purchase of a chipper/shredder. I'm considering the BXM42 or the BXM32. I have heard that there are folks using a B series tractor with the BXM42 so I don't think I would have any problems running the chipper/shredder. However, I wanted to know if when connected to a B or L series how great is the angle on the PTO attachment? Has this been a problem that has caused issues with going through shear bolts? Thanks in advance for your responses.

In two years of regular use, chipping more Oak than anything else, I have never snapped a shear bolt. Not even sure my BX42s has a shear bolt. Wallenstein makes The Best, they go on and on and on.

Buy the BXM42 for its heavier construction. You will be glad you did.

Your L3240 will power either Wallenstein model easily.

A bought a pack of 5 shear bolts and have yet to use 1

Same here for my BX42 - never broke a shear bolt, which may be good or bad. I have stalled my BX25 a few times from chipping near 4" dry oak, but no damage to the chipper or tractor. Wallenstein makes some good stuff.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I was concerned with the sharp angle PTO connection that it would put undue stress on the shear bolt but the feedback provided from you fellas reassure me that this shouldn't be a problem. I am leaning towards the BXM42 but was thinking that my brother who lives a block from me and has a BX2360 could use the chipper as well if I get the BXM32. However, no way he could lift the larger of the two chipper/shredders. The BXM42 would probably be nearly as big as his tractor. Decisions Decisions...

I agree but I refrain from mentioning this may create a sore point. Since I'm so close I'll probably just run my tractor over and work to do what he needs to do. Still considering both but am leaning to the BXM42. Does anyone have any more feedback regarding any problems or issues experienced?

Don't have a B3200 or a B at all, but I will mention that the lower links on my BX don't go low enough to mount the BX42. Fortunately for me, I had my dealer drill two extra holes in the lower lift arms closer in to the tractor, so I just move my vertical lift rods to the extra holes, which lets the arms drop another 3" or so. The mounting points on the BX42 seem exceptionally low, even for a BX. I know some TBN members have added blocks to the bottom of the BX42 to raise it up some. Should also help with reducing the PTO angle.

Bxm42 has two sets of lift points.
