Kenny-

To make sure I understand, does the "3rd rear SCV kit" eliminate the need for the WR Long valve kit? In othetr words, if I get the JD 3rd SCV would I not need the WR long kit? If so, what would control the grapple? Would it be controlled with the rockshaft lever?

You can use either the rear remote(3rd rear SCV kit) OR the WR Long valve. I would preffer the WR Long valve so the grapple control is on the joystick, and not on a seperate lever.

When you install the 3rd SCV kit, a lever is added next to the rockshaft lever, this new lever operates the new rear SCV, remote, hydraulic hookup, or whatever else you want to call it.

For convenience of use, the WR Long valve kit and loader rocker switch can't be beat. Open and close grapple without removing your hand from the stick.

Exactly! I agree 100%:D

Thanks for the explanation. I know I seem a bit slow on all this, but it is quite confusing with all the redundant terms. Thanks, everybody, for all the help. I plan to get the WR Long kit with options and then the Millonzi 48" grapple. I need to sell my boat to fund all this stuff. Its a nice deck boat with merc V8 if anybody is interested.LOL

I also agree witrh going the diverter route, and I'll add 2 reasons:

1. already mentioned, it's nice to control the switch, grapple, loader, curl all with one hand, it becomes 2nd nature after a while. Reaching down to another lever on either side seems less-than-ergonomic.

2. If you get a nice grapple, then, one day (soon) you will be thinking about Top n Tilt, and/or a hydraulically controlled device on the rear, that's when you spring for the 3rd SCV, to control your rear stuff. And that is where I am right now, I used the diverter, off of my curl circuit, and at such time I want to go T n T, or hydraulic actuated rear implement, my up front plumbing will not need to be re-worked.

Of course, if it were ONLY a money decision, it sounds like you could work the Grapple, a tad cheaper, using the 3rd scv option, but, not a whole lot cheaper.

I vote diverter with switch on the joystick, works great.

So, if I go with the WR Long kit, and I want to add a hydraulic top link later, I will then need to get the 3rd SCV? Can the Long valve not operate a rear hyd. implement in lieu of the grapple? Just curious more than anything. I was under the impression that I would be able to disconnect the QD for the front plumbing and connect another hose for a rear attachment. It wont change my decision either way.

Island, I hate to disagree here, but your wrong on the price. I posted earlier in this thread (reply #23) the part # and a price of $211.00 right from the configurator. Not sure where your getting your info from?

Kenny, I may be wrong but I did get that $329 figure from the JD "configurator" for the 3520. First page where they show the cost of ordering the tractor with or without the 3rd SCV. http://configurator.deere.com/servlet/com.deere.u90947.eproducts.view.servlets.ProductSelectionServlet?userAction=configureProduct&lang=en&country=us&sbu=CCE&category=cceTractors&model=3520%20Tractor&modelID=Model736&baseCode=&futureProduct=false

Island, all we are doing is confusing the Original Poster...

But, Your link did not work-But you are on page Two, and your $329 is greyed out with a red "X" next to it correct? You need to go to page three "Customize" , then select the "Accessories" tab, then scroll down, you will see the options under Hydraulics...

Yes, the WR Long can operate a rear attachment-But then you will need long hoses that run from the front to the rear, exactly opposite of what we told you before about using the rear remote to operate the grapple...

You really are getting yourself confused by thinking about this to hard...

You are right. I am just trying to understand the terminology. Bottom line is that the WR Long divert valve is going to enable me to operate the grapple. Just gotta get everything ordered and get going. Cant wait to have the grapple going. Glad I decided to go with the 48 and Long kit. I didnt think I would be able to get into a grapple set up for $1500. Very cool. I will be able to attack the debris clean up without having to constantly get off and strap the debris into my bucket.

Yep, and JD is confusing me.:D I'll sign off as it appears JMT1271 understands that the WRLong kit will do what he needs.
