WARNING ! Ansung misrepresenting

   / WARNING ! Ansung misrepresenting #31
We as smart consumers can not let manufactures get away with miss representing their products, they have a duty to be accurate with weight and dimensions, please read the entire ongoing thread I'm being very fair and objectionable. No I have not used the tiller yet just got it home a few days ago, and I might return it, I'm not saying it is a bad or good tiller only time will tell. Telling people something is built like a tank is very misleading and is not an accurate description of a product, Ansungs website says it weighs 656 lbs and Ansung told me they have had three revisions, so does that mean they have reduced the weight of their tank and did not bother to tell us, I don't know how old your unit is that you bought but maybe you got one of their first models that was built like a tank and now their new models are not. Yes manufacturers have a right to change their design and they also have a duty to tell the consumer of the new dimensions and weight.

Please do not get upset about my post, and I have no idea why your taking this personally unless you own stock in the company or your the owner of Ansung or a dealer, if your happy with your tiller and it's working for you that's great, if you buy a front loader and the manufacturer tells you it will lift 1000 lbs and when you get it home and you find out it only lifts 800 lbs because they had a design change and did not tell you and your ok with that and are willing to live with it. Not me.

(So is it built like a tank or is it a "Light Weight Unit")

At this point Everything Attachments said they would weigh the unit on Monday so we would know what it weighs because at this point we have no idea, and I think that is great customer service if they follow through.

No problem Catman8

I have the YJR 074 (2011 year made) which is a different animal than yours. It is made differently and is a lot heavier, built like a tank with heavy plate, not a stamped metal housing as some of the cheaper ones out there. At that time it was rated commercial grade - not sure how they are rated now. I know the weight is well over the 914 lbs advertised as it maxed out the neighbors loader which is rated at 1400 lbs getting it off the trailer. I at that time I did not have forks for mine. If you want weight - which is good in a tiller, look hard at the YJR series. Even from the photos on Ansung web site it looks heavier built. Otherwise looks at Woods or others.

I also got mine used out of a rental fleet from my local Agg dealer. It had barely been used as they required 50 HP pto to rent. I am running it fine at 26.5 pto HP as I have a hydro-static drive and can just slow down. So the information on the YJR having an efficient gear system is true, at least to me.

Now as to adding weight, neighbor has one of the light weight Tater units. he welded two boxes on to put 200 lbs of concrete blocks on top. Does a whole lot better now as it does not bounce as much. Seems to be doing fine for him and he uses it all the time.

Good luck on your decision

Powerscol, it looks like Ansung has reduced the weight on most of their units ER062 656 lbs to 516 lbs.
YJR062 703lbs to 651lbs. I find lots of company's do this over time to save money, your unit is older and cannot compare to their newer units and so we need to inform the buying public.

We just put an ER062 on the scale and the crated weight is 545 pounds.
I hope this helps.

Unfortunately, no it does not help anyone to tell us what the crated weight is. We as consumers need to know what an attachment weighs that we are purchasing, we have no idea what the crate weighs. So are we to assume that the weights you post for all your attachments that you sell and manufacture are crated weights or are they the actual implement weight.

516 is the revised attachment weight according to Ansung.
This means the crate weighs 30 pounds.

Some mfgs supply crated weight & some supply actual weight. Some supply both.
We generally supply actual weight for the products we manufacture unless noted otherwise.

Yes it does help those of us smart enough to know what packaging and a pallet approximately weighs and gee whiz, not even a thank you? EA did you a great favor by weighing the tiller, especially since you didn't even purchase from them. I see you wanted them to also weigh the PTO shaft and fill the tiller with oil on your original request. Are you serious?

Here is a novel idea, actually run the tiller in some real dirt and if it is unsatisfactory tell us why. Not updating one's website doesn't constitute a conspiracy in most people's minds.

I agree Deerherd (love the avatar sign) EA has gone above and beyond on this and when I have called on other products I have gotten the same excellent attention. A big thank you to them from me too. I believe the suggestion you made to the OP is very fair - otherwise I think this thread is getting out of line on the name bashing. 4 pages and it has not been run yet - something not right.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Gentlemen, I will have to kindly disagree with your assessment of the situation, this post is about false advertising and a company (Ansung) who is to lazy to update their specifications so the consumer knows what he is buying, why on earth would you not want to know the correct specifications. The point of a forum is to share information and knowledge so others can learn and be informed buyers and pointing out incorrect data is not bashing, it's informing and a great help to others.

Why would you expect me to thank Everything Attachments for NOT weighing the tiller by itself as they said they would, they just posted a shipping weight that they already knew and typed it on a forum that took two minutes, they ship these items every day. (Don't be so gullible) If you read their website they say they fill all their units with fluid so don't try and make it out like they had to go out of their way to please me, I did not buy the unit from them but I do have $10,000 more to spend on other attachments so if they truly new about customer service they would of done as asked.

Trying to create your own narrative of a situation that doesn't exist when posting is silly, anyone can create a user account on a forum and the biggest sign to look for when reading someone's post is when they are backing a company that they supposedly have no financial interest in, that is a dead giveaway and a tell tell sign that they are an owner, stockholder, or a dealer and trying to do damage control by trying to make you look silly, and they should not be posting without revealing their association with a certain brand or company.

So when reading post and trying to decide what implements to buy or tractors be aware who might be swaying you, it might likely be an undercover dealer boosting his own product pretending to be your average joe blow.

Oh yea, EA THANK YOU for changing the specifications on your website that will be very helpful for your potential customers.;)

WoW.
Believe it or not, the first thing I asked my shipping mgr. to do when he arrived on Monday morning was to weigh an ER062 tiller.
They are supposed to have gearboxes with oil from the factory, so we do not add oil.

Have you asked the vendor to take the tiller back? Asked them to trade out for a heavier tiller? Asked them for anything?

If I were said vendor, I would be taking care of this promptly and efficiently, regardless of it being on TBN.

Bottom line, we all make mistakes. We try to limit our mistakes to a minimum, but EA is not immune either.
It's simple.....The vendor should make you happy and then Ansung should make the vendor happy.

Oh, and we would love to have your business.

nicely said Travis.
My Extreme blade and rake you guys built are doing just fine, very heavy construction.

The OP is expressing his indignation on behalf of all of us. We all want accurate information to make intelligent decisions.
And sometimes yes we put emphasis on the wrong things...as the customer is sure not always right,
having spent time on the other side of the counter myself. Likely the 100 pound difference won't make a big operational change, but
you know, none of us want to be lied to.

Shipping weight is strictly for estimating shipping costs and should be the optional weight given.
Always we should be given the actual weight of the unit, as it would weigh in service. I'm not so concerned over fluids, how much hair splitting
are we doing here?
