Received the green T-cover ordered online. Here it is next to the flush cover that came with the boxes.

Put foam pipe insulation on the PEX and a blue Bubba Mug over the gauge and pressure switch.

Used two cans of spray foam on the inside of the T cover.

I have a digital indoor/outdoor wireless thermometer, so I put the outdoor sensor in the box. It registered 44 degrees overnight with a low of 28.

The next day I raised the lid slightly to see how much difference that would make. It registered 36 degrees overnight with a low of 28.

Moved the sensor to the bottom, but lost the signal in the house, so I put it on the blue Bubba Mug, shown in the previous post. Getting full signal strength now and the sensor is lower down than the first readings, 24 degrees forecast for tonight, so will see what it shows in the morning.

The overnight air temperature was 21, 46 in the box, with the sensor about a foot lower and next to the tank.

I am trying to determine if I need to insulate the pressure tank.

Alternatively, you could buy a very cheap current transformer (or doughnut) off E-Bay. This would simply clip onto one of your pump circuit conductors not making any electrical connection. Then run a sensitive relay off this and use the contacts to switch the warning device of your choice. You will need a DC adapter to run the relay. There are other ways to do this, but the doughnut is key!

I have used the ELK 924 relay with good results for other similar functions. There is one on E-Bay for $8.52. Free Shipping.

Yep, thanks for that option.

The Ac Current Switch I installed in March of 2013 is working great. I got in the habit of looking at the light every time I flush the toilet, since I can see it from the sink in the bathroom.

Here is a diagram of how it is wired. The monitored load is the pump. The switched load is the light. L1 comes from the breaker, T1 goes to the light socket.

I am using an incandescent 11 watt Sign Light and a cut off blue plastic lid to shield the sunlight. I can see it come on from the house, when the pump is running.

No, we had a mild winter, the coldest night after I moved the temperature sender back up higher, was 16 degrees for a short time, it showed 39 degrees. One night was 26 for several hours, it showed a low of 37.

This is where the temperature sending unit is located now:

I didn't insulate the tank, but did add more spray foam to the lid back in December.
